Types Of Health Maintenance Organization Plans
Two types of health maintenance organization plans that are readily available are the Staff Model
HMO and Group Model HMO, and these plans are often called closed panel plans (Kongstvedt, 2016,
p. 63). These HMO plans are considered closed because either the HMO employs the physician, or the
physician belongs to the HMO group, thus creating a smaller network for the patient to be seen
(Farnham, n.d., Chapter 3). Each HMO plan has its benefits and disadvantages for the physician and
patient. Consequently, depending on what the patient needs to meet their medical needs the Staff
Model HMO plan or Group Model HMO plan would benefit them. Furthermore, depending on the
particular type of freedom the physician is looking for is what would influence the type of plan they
would join.
During a Staff Model HMO the physician is employed by HMO network, thus they are salaried
employees. Therefore, the physician is paid whether he sees an HMO patient or not. On the other
hand, the physician could be very busy and still get the same salary. Sometimes the HMO offers
incentives for quality control, so that the physician does not use expensive medical testing
(Kongstvedt, 2016, p. 65). Besides the HMO paying the salary of the physicians, the HMO actually
owns the medical facilities, equipment, and supplies used by the HMO physician and in some cases
the hospital. Hence, the physician employed by the HMO could be financially beneficial to them.
Additionally, because of the size of the

Morton Hindu Religious Traditions Paper This paper will respond to the assignment requirements
from the course syllabus based on the course readings. The first question was, What sacred elements
characterize Hindu religious traditions? Based on the course readings, as well as to my understanding,
they are the major devas, based on Vedic scriptures, which include Indra (god of thunder and bringer
of welcome rains), Agni (god of fire), Soma (associated with a sacred drink), and Ushas (goddess of
dawn). The devas included both opaque earth gods and transparent deities of the sky and celestial

(Living Religions) Nearly every home in India has a shrine with pictures or small statues of various
deities, and many have a special prayer room set aside for their worship. For puja, or worship, ritual
purity is emphasized; the time for prayer and offerings to the deities is after the morning bath or after
one has washed in the evening. Typically, a small oil lamp and a smoldering stick of incense are
waved in a circle before the deities images. If the devotee or family has a guru, a picture of him or her
is usually part of the shrine. senses. Siva lingams may be anointed with precious substances, such as
ghee (clarified butter), honey, or sandalwood paste, with offerings of rose water and flowers. In a
temple, devotees may have the great blessing of receiving darsan (visual contact with the divine)
through the eyes of the images. One hears the sounds of mantras and ringing bells. Incense and
flowers fill the area with uplifting fragrances. Prasad, food that has been sanctified by being offered to
the deities and/or one s guru, is passed around to be eaten by devotees, who experience it as sacred
and spiritually charged. (Living Religions) The Indian Supreme court has formally defined Hindu

Art Galleries And Art Museums
An institution with the purpose of preserving, protecting and publically displaying collections ranging
from various paintings to different artefacts are museums. Their historical development also led to
intellectual evolution and divergence of the public thought on objects that are placed inside.
Today we question the values of seeing those objects; for an example, museum sceptics undermine the
value of museums and collections. Nevertheless, there are several main points that argue against the
beliefs of museum sceptics and they propose that when seeing objects in a museum we gain value of
praising and preserving the past, preserving cultural heritage and acquire an educational value.
Art galleries and museums are nowadays indispensable institutions mainly in important cities around
the world. The Metropolis provides the perfect social and political environment to develop the civic
ritual founded by Art Museums and its now rooted tradition. (Duncan, 1995, p.21) However,
predominant thought that questions seeing objects in a museum is proposed by the museum sceptics .
According to Carrier, museum sceptics state that art in museums does not survive, meaning it loses its
power. Museums de facto fail to preserve the art constituted in old objects that are collected. This
belief also rejects time travel in museums since they argue that it is only an illusion. (Carrier, 2006,
pp. 50 51) This is a rather philosophical approach, but it strongly rejects the claim that old

They handle the media, internal company meetings, and several other related meetings. Third, set up a
notification system (Bernstein, J., 2016). Fourth, one must have a holding statement available
(Bernstein, J., 2016). They are used after the event occurred and to let the community know that they
are aware of the issue. Know your internal and external stakeholders. After the crisis happened, one
must assess the situation, create messages to be sent to the stakeholders informing them on what they
need to know (Bernstein, J., 2016). The final step is performing a post crisis analysis (Bernstein, J.,
2016).
How a Leader Should React to a Crisis A good leader should hold a meeting to figure out what went
wrong and calm everyone down (Baldoni, J., 2011). Then, the leader needs to act within a reasonable
amount of time (Baldoni, J., 2011). The leader must address the crisis and how it will affect the
company (Baldoni, J., 2011). Leader are there to control the response (Baldoni, J., 2011). Always keep
one s composure in control (Baldoni, J., 2011).
II. Communication Styles
Internal Stakeholders Internal stakeholders are those who are directly related to company like
employees (Markwell, S. Leigh Hunt, N., 2016). Preparation for a crisis is important in dealing with
one. A good way for leaders to prepare their employees is to have small work groups (Klann, G.
2003). This will encourage those who are shy to speak up

Proposal on Energy Audit
Proposal Energy Audit: An energy audit is an inspection, survey and analysis of energy, flows for
energy conservation in a building, process or system to reduce the amount of energy input into the
system without negatively affecting the output(s). Energy audit identifies opportunities for financial
savings by elimination of wasteful use of electricity, coal and fuel oil, without affecting the process or
quality of product. Need for Energy Audit: It has been established that Energy savings of the order of
5 to 20% are possible by optimizing use of Energy with better house keeping, low cost retrofitting
measures and use of Energy efficient equipment at the time of replacement, renovation or up
gradation. Pakistan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is this first phase where you, the facility manager, can watch the work of the energy auditor to make
sure he does not miss any equipment and allocates the equipment to their right meters. Phase II: Data
Analysis The second phase expected of an energy audit is an analysis of the data obtained at the
facility. Here the auditor leaves the facility and returns to his place of business to use his skills and
computer programs to analyze the data collected. When he/she has analyzed your existing equipment s
operation, it should match the demand and energy consumption on the electric bills. The analysis
should show a breakdown of the percent of demand and energy used by various types of equipment
such as air conditioning, heating, lighting, motors, etc. It should bench mark the facility s energy use
index to similar facilities. Phase III: Recommend Energy Conservation with Cost Effective The third
phase of an energy audit is to recommend energy conservation measures in equipment and operations.
This would include replacing inefficient with high efficiency lighting, air conditioning, and motors,
adding window tint to south and west facing windows, installing motion sensors, and purchasing there
energy saving devices. Each item would have a cost and an annual savings associated with it so as to
calculate a payback period and rate of return percent. They should be graphed to show individual as

The Advent Of Industrialized Civilization Essay
The advent of industrialized civilization has brought to us many remarkable feats that enhance our
everyday lives. Such things as automobiles, airplanes, tractors, mainframe computers, and even
relatively simple machines like lawnmowers have intertwined themselves into the everyday culture of
modern day industrialized countries.. These products have provided us enormous benefits compared to
the types of lives our ancestors used to live. In the eyes of some, the consequences of industrial
activities that have evolved around the world will not pose any problems in the future, however as
most have realized, this is not true. Contemporary production processes use fossil fuels such as oil,
which release dangerous amounts of greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. In addition, certain
products such as vehicles are notorious for their inefficient combustion cycles that also release
comparable amounts of certain greenhouse gases into the air. Moreover, emissions from agricultural
practices, land use change and forestry, and other industrial activities have led to dramatic increases in
atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane and other gases since pre industrial times.
(Fig. 1) The world was quick to act upon this realization by negotiating the Kyoto Protocol in
December of 1997, the result of a process that began by a United Nations led conference in the early
90s. Since then, the debate for ratification among the negotiating countries has been ongoing, for the

The Importance Of Population Development In Australia
200 years after Australia s Indigenous forcibly had to share their land, the growth of population and
development that Australia has experienced is unprecedented. Currently Australia s population stands
at 24 Million and it is on a continuous rise, due to a combination of both, a high birth rate and a
significant number of immigrants per annum. As a multicultural nation, the immigration intake is a
major factor, and is said to have generated just over half (56%) of population growth, this is due to the
demand to settle permanently in Australia, work for an amount of time or study as student (Wilson,
2017). Furthermore, interest in population policy was once again visited in 2010, when the current
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd proclaimed that he supported a Big Australia , along with a released
prediction that by 2050 Australia s population would reach 36 Million (Brown, 2011, pp.1). However,
the opposition leader Tony Abbott, took this opportunity to gather support from the public, and argued
for a sustainable population policy, and calling Rudd out on a reckless commitment , which Julia
Gillard once Rudd was ousted, was also quick to favour, focusing her views on a sustainable approach
to population growth (Brown, 2011, pp.2). The population policy debate is widely discussed and a
driver for public concern, but the birth rate and the rate of net overseas migration is on a continuous
high and both factors are relatively hard to control or predict. A range of commentator s as

A Brief Look at The Beatles and Their Music
The Beatles would ultimately pursue a goal quite similar to that of Marx to change the way people
think about the world In order to create a better, more just world a theme particularly relevant in their
later work. Discuss.
Baur, S (2006) The Beatles and Philosophy Chicago: Open Court p87
Beatles music makes you feel good, even 30 years after first hearing it, I and many other fans get
intense pleasure from listening to the songs. By the age of 4 I was a keen listener, and by the age of 7 I
owned all their albums. My view of the world we live in was shaped to a greater or lesser extent by
the messages and music on those albums.
Before researching this topic, I have already in my mind my own understanding as to the Beatles goals
and their developing intentions throughout the decade, their involvement with political activity, and
what, in particular, Ono and Lennon sought to achieve in their ten month peace campaign during
1969.
The goals and philosophy of Marx, of a classless society and socialist order, reflected the civil,
feminist, sexual freedom and anti war movements of the 1960 s fairly closely. The sixties were also a
time when many people were freer to experiment with the social and political philosophy of Karl

The Marketing Of Cvs Health Operates
Industry Overview:
The industry that CVS Health operates in is characterized as, the Retail Drugstore industry.
Companies that operate in this industry offer a wide variety of goods and services such as prescription
medication through their in store pharmacy, over the counter medications, health and beauty items,
toiletries, grocery goods, photo processing, and basic health services. This industry includes retail
stores with a pharmacy and excludes mail order retailers, hospitals and clinics.
Some hospitals and clinics offer their own pharmacy to their patients on site to cut out retail stores
such as CVS Health. Hospitals and clinics that offer such services to their patients can be considered
substitutes to a drugstore s pharmacy. Also, to fulfill their health and beauty, grocery, and toiletry
needs, consumers can choose to go to Wal Mart or Target.
The retail drugstore industry became common in the United States around the 50 year period of 1870
1920. Before drugstores became prevalent, physicians would dispense medication themselves at their
office. Once drugstores were invented, physician dispensing declined as drugstores could dispense
medication and offered customers a soda fountain. However, owners of drugstores made most of their
money from selling tobacco and soda rather than their medication (1).
Drugstores have evolved greatly over the years due to increasing competition. By 1990, the drugstore
business was changing in various ways. Demographically, there

Boston Marathon Bombing Report
In this class, I have learned a lot of valuable food and alcohol safety rules. Throughout this class, I
learned a lot from the food portion. I learned the different temperatures of cooking for the different
types of food including; chicken, red meat, and seafood. I also learned forms of contamination, the
flow of food and cleaning and sanitizing. Learning these things will help impact my career plan and
employability because this is an area within events that sometimes goes overlooked and will make me
stand out from the crown with these certificates.
The Food Code s purpose is to assist food control jurisdictions at all levels of government by
providing them with a scientifically sound technical and legal basis for regulating the retail and food
service segment of the industry. The Food Code s main focus is to be an overall food safety model,
that each local, state and federal regulators can use as a model. The National Restaurant Association
(NRA) supports the Food Code by helping make changes to the Code that it applies better to the
restaurants. Because the Food Code isn t a law, some areas like proper handwashing and sanitation
things go overlooked and the NRA is making the changes to the Food Code so every part of the
restaurant s operations are touched upon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mercury Surface Research Paper
Mercury s surface is very rocky and covered in boulders and pulverized dust. The surface is also filled
with craters. The planet is a grey color. It is the smallest planet but very dense. The surface of Mercury
is very similar to the surface of the moon, but Mercury has more smooth plains. On Mercury you will
not find any clouds, dust storms, rivers or any other sign of weather. The planets magnetic field keeps
any winds away from it. Mercury has a mainly iron rich core. The planet will always be facing the sun
on one side, lighting up half of its surface. The side facing the sun is very hot, while the side not
facing the sun gets very cold. There is absolutely no sign of anything living on Mercury, and there has
not been any for a long time.

The Impact Of Underdevelopment On The Economy
Every day countries around the world are faced with conflicts and problems due to undeveloped areas
not having any companies to bring economic opportunities to the country. Having no economic or job
openings can cause poverty. The Census Bureau reports poverty rates by work experience for people
ages 18 to 64. In 2014, the overall poverty rate for people ages 18 to 64 was 14%. The poverty rates
by work experience for that age group ranged from 3% to 34%. The development of countries relies
heavily on whether or not business owners will bring their product to their state. When entrepreneurs
do not start their company in an area with little economic or educational development, many people
suffer health, educational and economic issues. Companies and citizens need to help the poor
countries and the poor areas in the Untied States get what they deserve. Businesses and entrepreneurs
need to start their companies in low income areas in order to increase opportunities for residents. The
solution for the issue of underdevelopment can be solved by the help of others and that is what will
solve this problem. Business owners want their product to sell as fast and as much as possible so they
will build their companies in higher income areas. This causes the low income and underdeveloped
areas to keep losing profit and benefits they would get if they had more markets, building, and homes.
A study shows that the organization of entrepreneurship effects the area greatly Entrepreneurial

Determination of Reaction Rate Law from the Reaction of Crystal Violet with Sodium Hydroxide
______________________________________________ Abstract: This experiment helps determine
the rate of reaction of crystal violet while it reacts with sodium hydroxide with respect to crystal
violet. The amount of sodium hydroxide is varied in this experiment while crystal violet is kept at a
constant. The transmittance of crystal violet is observed and recorded using a colorimeter and the data
obtained is used to plot graphs which are manipulated using LoggerPro software to produce the
desired outcome; rate of reaction of crystal violet. Upon completion of the experiment it was seen that
the rate of reaction of crystal violet turned out to be 1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It must be noted that only the absolute value of the slope matters in this situation. Third order
reactions have somewhat a similar story except they require a plot of 1/concentration versus time to
determine rate of reaction. When all three graphs are plotted, the graph with the line of best fit, or the
one in which all point seem to be on a straight line is the correct one for the reaction. This is easily
drawn using the LoggerPro software. When all three graphs are drawn, the graph with the best fit line
and lowest root mean square error, or the lowest deviation from the best fit line, is the graph to be used
to determine reaction kinematics. This knowledge is acquired from the equations of the integrated rate
laws which are explained in the textbook. The solutions are mixed in small amounts in cuvettes and
inserted into the colorimeter, which reads the percentage transmittance during the time period. The
colorimeter has an enclosed space for the cuvette to be inserted making sure light from other sources
does not interfere with the reaction, hence providing accurate results. The rate of the reaction is
determined by using the equation: Rate= k [CV+] [OH ], where k is the rate constant for the reaction.
Materials: Solutions of crystal violet and sodium hydroxide were available in the laboratory which
were previously prepared of concentrations 2.00 E 5 and 2.00 E 2 respectively. Deionized water was

Phineas Gage Dualism
In the discussion of the human mind and how it actually works, there are a few distinct philosophical
concepts that many believe to be an accurate diagnosis. Three of these views are Dualism,
Physicalism, and Functionalism. They each portray a different view on how the mind functions in
some cases physically or even mentally and separate from the actual human brain. perfect way to
exam these approaches is to take an in depth look at the interesting case of Phineas Gage. Gage, born
in 1823, was a railroad construction worker in the northeastern region of the United States. On

These three Body Mind views present possible ways to examine the accident that Phineas Gage
suffered an entire change in personality from. Physicalism presents the best argument for explaining
the Gage case. If everything is physical it is certainly logical for the personality and thought processes
of a human to change after enduring an entirely physical injury. Physicalism suggests that everything
about human beings can be explained just by looking at the pure physical processes of the body and
specifically the brain, so clearly it presents a sound argument for why Gage endured such a drastic
change in who he actually was. Gage according to dualism may have had the same mind, but
according the physicalism certainly did not have the same brain and therefore, to quote his coworkers,

Gender, Employment, And Career Advancement
In the US, there have been considerable efforts to bring gender equity in the domains of education,
employment and career advancement. However, several occupations are still highly gender segregated
(ACLU, 2013). It has been found that the choices of such occupations could be shaped during early
childhood through gendered socialization. Playing with dolls is an important factor in the gender
socialization process. Dolls boost the cultural ideals that are linked to the place of girls in the society.
Barbie dolls tend to send negative images to young girls since they illuminate a fancy sexual figure
that seems unattainable (Grade, Ward Hyde, 2008). There is limited data on the negative effects this
doll has on the gender socialization of girls. This experiment seeks to assess whether experimentally
controlling girls interaction with Barbie dolls when compared to a neutral doll influences their
developmental ideas about who they want to be in the future.
Gender is a socially constructed concept and it denotes the behavior and characteristics associated
with either men or women (Sherman Zurbriggen, 2014). Different studies have shown that the
comprehension and acceptance of gender roles commence at a very early age (Sherman Zurbriggen,
2014). Playing with dolls or toys has been found to influence gender roles in kids. Play with Barbie
dolls is a significant source of gendered socialization because it conveys a sexualized adult to young
girls. However, research focusing on

meanwhile, it provides numbers of SB APIs to accommodate devices using specific technologies,
including WiFi, LTE, and WiMAX (see Figure 15). Fig. 15. The NFV/SDN Architecture in WCNs. In
the case of enhancing resource allocation and scalability, the programmability of SDN allows fast
service deployment and alleviates the conflicts between different network functions. Figure 15
illustrates that SDN solutions can either be applied to the level of AN (e.g., SoftRAN [Gudipati et al.
2013], SoftMobile [Chen et al. 2014]) or the level of CN (e.g., SoftCell [Li et al. 2012]). Additionally,
it holds to work in both the AN and CN (e.g., cellular SDN [Li et al. 2012]). For example, SoftRAN
virtualizes a set of base stations to be a single virtual one by leveraging the AN control plane, which
improves the handover, resource assignment and transmits power allocation. SoftMobile tackles the
problems of state information distribution, cell configuration, and real time operations between cells.

lot filled with so many people with smiles on their faces. I was picking up my fourth puppy to raise to
someday be a guide dog for somebody visually impaired. I had been assigned a puppy, but I did not
know his name. All I had been told was that he was a male yellow lab, and his name started with the
letter Y. Naturally, I had put together a list of over 100 name possibilities, and I anxiously awaited to
hear what my companion for the next year would be called. Finally, the moment arrived when a small
yellow ball emerged from the doors of the puppy truck, a large van used to transport puppies. I could
not contain my excitement. He was handed to me as I was told his name. Yukon. It was so incredibly
beautiful to hold this little being in my arms knowing that

The Media Causes Eating Disorders Essay
According to the National Eating Disorder Association the media has a major influence on what a
woman s body should look like. Every print and television advertisement suggests that the ideal body
is extremely thin. However, most women cannot achieve having a super thin body that the media
favors. The resulting failure leads to negative feelings about one s self and can begin a downward
spiral toward an eating disorder (National Eating Disorders Association). A particularly disturbing fact
is that research has demonstrated that children as young as five years of age are experiencing body
image related anxiety. At the same time there has been a major increase in Internet websites that are

Magazines that are targeted toward adolescent girls focus on the importance of being viewed as sexy
by men and focusing on the way your body looks. Studies have shown that adolescents who frequently
read fashion magazines are two to three times more likely to diet based on the articles in the magazine.
Pipher states that research shows that women are ashamed of their bodies. Young girls starting at age
ten are embarrassed of their bodies. It used to be only older women ha body image issues. Beauty,
according to American society is an image of a woman just short of starvation (Mary Pipher, People
Magazine, 6/3/96). Strasburger supports her argument that the media is to blame by using a study that
was done in Fiji. A natural field experiment in Fiji revealed that the eating disorder rate increased
dramatically after American television shows, which show excessively thin female lead characters,
were introduced. There are also now over 100 pro anorexia Web sites on the Internet that not only
encourage disordered eating but also offer specific advice on purging, severely restricting caloric
intake, and exercising excessively (Strasburger). Recent studies have shown that adolescent girls
describe the ideal girl as being 5 7 , 100 pounds, size 5, with long blonde hair and blue eyes
(Developmental...Eating Disorders, Section 2, Chapter 10, Pg. 235). Girls related this ideal girl look to

Technology: The Effects on Music throughout History
Music and technology aid one another. In a way a person can capture music they love through
technology and then the electronic companies flourish due to the sale and popularity of these
electronic devices. If a person wants to listen to music they can turn on a stereo or TV, choose a CD or
DVD to play, or listen to a songs downloaded in ITunes. All of these devices are proof to show how
technology is used to record, play, and change the way music is heard. A look through history will
show how far society has come in music alone. The development of technology has changed the way
the music industry operates and the way society hears and purchases music today.
It started off with humming, then singing. People sang in church choirs, in the living room, or on a
stage. Music can be heard by vocals or by the melodic tune of instruments. People paid to go to
symphonies and listen to composers perform their masterpieces. Family gathered around the piano, or
at a church to listen to music on the holidays. Music was not portable, nor was it recordable.
According to the novel, Looking Backward in 1888, the philosophy was that technology was the
solution to the ills plaguing modern life and the means to achieve a perfect society (Katz, 51).
Meaning that life was boring and technology was the answer to bettering and changing society. In
1877, Thomas Edison invented the

The Issues Of The Field Of Psychology
The field of psychology is steadily expanding due to the progression in technology, which is being
driven by the advancement of civilization. More and more time is spent on the internet, which has
gradually altered the method in which primary communication takes place. Previously face to face
interaction was touted as the primary method of interfacing with one another, now communication via
the internet is almost mandatory to establish and maintain healthy relationships (Greenfield and Yan,
2006). This is especially true amongst children, adolescents and teenagers. The need for psychologists
have never been greater in order to assess how individuals are able to acclimate to this societal
change. Traditionally, there are two methods in which children, adolescents and teenagers
communicate via the internet, through social media and video games. Each primary method presents
their own unique social challenge. In response to the issues in of teenagers over use of the internet,
psychologists are providing assistance for internet addictions at a greater rate. The first method
utilized by mental health professionals is traditionally counseling and if those efforts fail, then the
potential exists for adolescents to be placed on medications. In order to establish an informative
baseline, the use of social media amongst children, adolescents and teenagers needs to be addressed.
Developmental psychologists have had a difficult time trying to identify the casual and driving

1984 Social Display Essay
The effect of social display In George Orwell s 1984, the whole society is under a distorted, extreme
condition. The Party sets telescreens everywhere to watch people and keep people do the right things
and have the right thoughts. People are forbidden to have privacy and they have to act in the expected
way. In modern time, people like to post their words and pictures on the social media. They are willing
to share their ideas, even if someone may criticize their behavior. The passive display and the active
display both have many effects on people. Some of the effects are same. Some effects are different. In
1984, the social display makes people feels suffocated and anxious. The Party watched everyone all
the time. According to Chapter I, Orwell said: It was even conceivable that they watched everybody

Advantages And Advantages Of Dsr
DSR is a reactive protocol and therefore doesn t use periodic updates of routing information. It
computes the routes whenever needed and then maintains them. The distinguishing feature of
Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) is the use of source routing technique in which the sender of a packet
determines the complete sequence of nodes through which the packet has to pass. The sender lists this
route in the packet s header, to identify each forwarding hop by the address of the next node to which
to transmit the packet on its way to the destination node There are two basic steps of DSR protocol: (i)
Route discovery and (ii) Route maintenance. Every node in the network maintains a cache to store
latest discovered paths. Before a node sends a packet, it first checks the cache whether there is an
entry for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also the node keeps the freshness information of the entry to recognize whether the cache is fresh or
not. If any intermediate node receives a data packet, it first checks whether the packet is sent to itself.
If it is the destination, it accepts the packet else it forwards the packet using the route attached on the
packet.
B. Merits and Demerits of DSR
Advantages of DSR are that routes are maintained only between nodes who wants to communicate
and overhead of route maintenance is reduced. Route caching further reduces route discovery
overhead. Many routes to the destination are yielded by a single route discovery due to intermediate
nodes reply from local caches.
The disadvantage is that the packet header size grows with route length as the route is cached
.Flooding of route requests casuses it to reach all nodes in the network. Hence collisions may occur
between route requests propagated by neighboring nodes. Nodes replying using their local cache
increases contention.

The Death Of A Man
He Who Goes Unknown
It was a dark, cold morning, around two or three, when a piercing scream was heard from within a
woods. It was the scream of a man, and it would be the last sound he ever made before his very
unfortunate death. The man would never be seen again by anyone who tried to search, unless they
were smart enough to search for every tiny clue left behind. It was now six in the morning when the
sun shined through Arthur s window. His phone rang, which caused him to wake. He blindly reached
over to the table beside his bed, picking up the phone before he answered it, sitting up in his bed.

Of course. I live down Maple Street. House number is 880.
I see. That should be nearby. I will arrive as soon as I can.
Thank you so much.
And with that, Arthur hung up the phone, placing it on the table once again. He made his way out of
bed, and began to get dressed as quickly as he could, and ran a brush through his hair to tame it
somewhat. His own brother, Allistair, woke due to the noise Arthur made.
Another case?...
Yes. Someone s brother went missing when a stranger broke into their house. I am going to
investigate, as usual. I am sorry, but I have no time to chit chat. I must go.
Arthur then grabbed up a briefcase, threw on a coat, and took off outside, giving his older brother no
time to ask any more questions.
I suppose I could walk there... His house should not be far if the given address was correct.
Arthur began to walk down the street, looking at the signs with street names until he found Oak Street.
He then began to look at all the different houses, looking for one with the number 880. Not much later,
he found the house, and walked up to the door, knocking on the door with his fist. No answer, He
knocked a little harder and someone finally answered.
You must be Arthur... Please, do come inside. My son is waiting for you in the living room.

Thesis Statement Of King Leopold s Ghost
Thesis Critique of King Leopold s Ghost Adam Hochschild s King Leopold s Ghost is a story recalling
the effects of European imperialism in Africa. Hochschild writes about the Belgian King Leopold s
exploitation over the Congo. Leopold s rule over an African territory becomes a devastatingly
lucrative monopoly over rubber. Leopold s brutal tactics and use of forced labor ultimately leads to
millions of deaths of the Congolese natives. Hochschild s argument successfully claims that European
imperialism in Africa (specifically that of King Leopold) led to devastating effects on the natives and
their land. The nineteen chapter, two part book starts off with a brief introduction. This introduction
sets up the first part of the book, where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By providing an in depth analysis of what really occurred with Leopold and his exploitative
proprietorship of the Congo Free State, Hochschild cogently convinces readers that beneath all of
Europe s coaxing and flattery about their imperialism, there is an underlying nature of terror and an
almost inescapable and pervasive essence of death and slavery. Hochschild perfectly depicts the drama
arising from the deceitful manipulations, courageous resistances, and uncut greed into an enthralling
piece of literature. Not only does Hochschild use the perspectives of Europeans, but he tells the untold
truths of the natives in their abysmal states, having to face inevitable horrors and atrocities. The reader
experiences the magnitude of effects that resulted in this imperialism, which may still last in modern
day Africa. Hochschild s persuasion perfectly captures what it is that he wants the readers to take in
the most: that Leopold s imperialism of the Congo did not only affect Europe and himself. Separating
from the common curriculum of history class, Hochschild doesn t want to tell the readers that
imperialism led to European nations gaining more markets, population, and raw materials: he wants
the reader to understand that this all came at a cost. This imperialism led to the deaths of ten million
natives in the Congo alone. This imperialism led to brutal torture of the

Explain the difference between: The sequence of and rate of development And why this difference is
important The sequence of development refers to the usual order in which development occurs. The
main difference between the sequence and the rate is that the sequence is the order in which
development takes place, whilst the rate is the time frame given for the average development of a
child at a certain age. The sequence of development is like a milestone as children usually finish one
area of development before moving to another. In life each child is unique and individual; Patterns of
development will be different too. Some Children develop quicker in different areas. Development can
vary from child to child. If a child has difficulties or aren t as advanced as other children it may mean
some delay in progressing on to the next development area. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This varies between each child although they tend to follow the same pattern. An example would be
the rate at which children learn to walk, my friend s child was walking at 8 months old yet my own

stopped her from accomplishing things. All children develop at different rates but by seeing the
comparisons we may be able to identify if there are any difficulties with a child s development. It s
important to know the difference between the sequence and rate of development as it helps to meet the
children s individual needs. It helps you recognise if any children have special educational needs

To make a fair evaluation of HFC and the other bidding companies we would compare the companies
WACC and the required rate of return which in this case we would use the Ke (CAPM), where the
Hershey s WACC is less than the CAPM (which is used to estimate the required rate of return which is
suitable for an asset). Taking the companies rates of return and the percentage for the wacc, for each
invested dollar that the Hershey, Wrigley, Nestle and Cadbury Schweppes, 0.0041cents, 0cents,
0.0099cents and 0.0088cents respectively are values the companies managed to gain. Hence, Hershey
was fairly valued by the stock market because for every dollar it was investing out of the bidding
companies it was the one who was gaining less (this is not taking into consideration Wrigley because
it is a company which only concentrates on chewing gums so it will not be fair to compare it with the
other three companies.
Also, to support the point that the stock market did a fair valuation of Hershey, the market value of
equity for Hershey was low even though it had the highest price per share out of the other three
companies. It is the shares outstanding which were low that made Hershey incur a low amount of
equity.

The Physics of Basketball Essay
The Physics of Basketball
The more and more I look around I begin to see how physics are integrated into practically everything
that we do. These things would surely go unnoticed without making a conscious effort to notice them.
For example simple things like riding a bike, or driving a car, or playing catch with a son or daughter.
Just as these activities are loaded with elements of physics, sports are also, especially basketball.
Physics play a part in every aspect of the game, from dribbling, passing, and shooting, to things as
simple as setting a screen. First we should take a look at the elements of dribbling.
Dribbling is all based on conservation of energy and the two different types of collisions, elastic and
inelastic. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of this energy is transferred to the other player, but if they are properly setting the pick that
player should not move. Since both players come essentially to rest, we can say that the energy was
lost through and inelastic collision.
Another basic element of basketball is that of passing the ball to another teammate. The physics
involved in this process are velocity, momentum, and impulse. The ball has a mass and when it is
thrown a velocity of the ball in created. From these two parts momentum is derived, P=mv
(Kirkpatrick Wheeler 106). While playing basketball it may be to your advantage to increase or
decrease the momentum of the ball when passing to a teammate depending upon the situation.
When receiving a pass you catch or slow the balls momentum to zero, which is called impulse, the
interaction that changes an object s momentum a force acting for a time interval (Kirkpatrick Wheeler
107). This is shown in an equation form by, F=P/Dt. By increasing the time over which you decelerate
the ball, you lessen the force (Bill Willis 2001). This increase of stopping time will make it easier to
catch and control the ball.
Impulse is the same concept in many things like the automotive airbag, seatbelts, and landing pads for
high jumpers. All of these are meant to slow the person down over

Management wants a quick cut that protects he company s assets, yet it wants to be gentle and
compassionate to those who are let go. These two objectives are self canceling, and to accomplish the
first requires considerable compromise on the second. Many companies wait until the day of the lay
off to inform its employees. They are concerned about sabotage and productivity. They seem to think
that if they retain the bad news until the last moment that the employees will leave and the rest will get
back to business. However, this method of a lay off is the least favorable for the employees. If the
company gives the employees notice of the cutback in the workforce, they will have time to plan for
the financial problems, look for other work, and make other necessary arrangements to prepare them
for the loss.
It would be in the best interest of the company to give this notice to its workers. Being a survivor of
downsizing can have its own ethical issues. Those who are left after the downsizing has occurred, may
share perceptions about the ethics of the decisions leading up to the dismissal of those who left. They
may experience feelings such as anger, guilt, fear, and even depression. These feelings could be
brought on by having to take up the slack and doing more work. They could also be asked to learn

Of the doomed relationship between the females and Rabbi Smolinksy, there is one female that stands
out. This is the rocky relationship between Rabbi Smolinsky and his youngest daughter Sara. Sara,
from a young age, was independent. This independence was illustrated at the time when her family
was destitute and starving. On her own initiative, Sara ran out into the street to sell herring in order to
bring a couple of dollars home to her family. There is a conflict in Saras independence. On one hand,
her independence is useful in that it allowed her to assist with the family finances. On the other hand,
Rabbi Smolinsky is opposed to her independence because of the fear that she will leave the house, as
well as the family values, all together. Rabbi Smolinsky needs Sara at home indefinitely, or at least to
marry into a wealthy family, who will then support him. This is not Saras ambition. Due to their clash
in values, Sara reaches her breaking point and runs off to become the independent soul she is. My will
is as strong as yours, she replies. Nobody can stop me. I m not from the old country. I m American!
Sara then rediscovers her independence through education, employment, and love. The last doomed
relationship in the novel, is the relationship between Rabbi Smolinsky s daughters and their husbands.

programs are not as effective as others in finding and eliminating viruses or malware. Also, when
downloading anti virus software from the Internet, one should be cautious as some websites say they
are providing protection from viruses with their software, but are really trying to install malware on
your computer by disguising it as something else.
Anti spyware

Spyware collects and relays data from the compromised computer to a third party.
Adware automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertisements. Some types of adware are also

  • 2. Types Of Health Maintenance Organization Plans Two types of health maintenance organization plans that are readily available are the Staff Model HMO and Group Model HMO, and these plans are often called closed panel plans (Kongstvedt, 2016, p. 63). These HMO plans are considered closed because either the HMO employs the physician, or the physician belongs to the HMO group, thus creating a smaller network for the patient to be seen (Farnham, n.d., Chapter 3). Each HMO plan has its benefits and disadvantages for the physician and patient. Consequently, depending on what the patient needs to meet their medical needs the Staff Model HMO plan or Group Model HMO plan would benefit them. Furthermore, depending on the particular type of freedom the physician is looking for is what would influence the type of plan they would join. During a Staff Model HMO the physician is employed by HMO network, thus they are salaried employees. Therefore, the physician is paid whether he sees an HMO patient or not. On the other hand, the physician could be very busy and still get the same salary. Sometimes the HMO offers incentives for quality control, so that the physician does not use expensive medical testing (Kongstvedt, 2016, p. 65). Besides the HMO paying the salary of the physicians, the HMO actually owns the medical facilities, equipment, and supplies used by the HMO physician and in some cases the hospital. Hence, the physician employed by the HMO could be financially beneficial to them. Additionally, because of the size of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first question was, What sacred elements characterize Hindu religious traditions? Based on the course readings, as well as to my understanding, they are the major devas, based on Vedic scriptures, which include Indra (god of thunder and bringer of welcome rains), Agni (god of fire), Soma (associated with a sacred drink), and Ushas (goddess of dawn). (Living Religions) Nearly every home in India has a shrine with pictures or small statues of various deities, and many have a special prayer room set aside for their worship. For puja, or worship, ritual purity is emphasized; the time for prayer and offerings to the deities is after the morning bath or after one has washed in the evening. Typically, a small oil lamp and a smoldering stick of incense are waved in a circle before the deities images. If the devotee or family has a guru, a picture of him or her is usually part of the shrine. senses. Siva lingams may be anointed with precious substances, such as ghee (clarified butter), honey, or sandalwood paste, with offerings of rose water and flowers. In a temple, devotees may have the great blessing of receiving darsan (visual contact with the divine) through the eyes of the images. One hears the sounds of mantras and ringing bells. Incense and flowers fill the area with uplifting fragrances. Prasad, food that has been sanctified by being offered to the deities and/or one s guru, is passed around to be eaten by devotees, who experience it as sacred and spiritually charged. • 4. Art Galleries And Art Museums An institution with the purpose of preserving, protecting and publically displaying collections ranging from various paintings to different artefacts are museums. Their historical development also led to intellectual evolution and divergence of the public thought on objects that are placed inside. Today we question the values of seeing those objects; for an example, museum sceptics undermine the value of museums and collections. Nevertheless, there are several main points that argue against the beliefs of museum sceptics and they propose that when seeing objects in a museum we gain value of praising and preserving the past, preserving cultural heritage and acquire an educational value. Art galleries and museums are nowadays indispensable institutions mainly in important cities around the world. The Metropolis provides the perfect social and political environment to develop the civic ritual founded by Art Museums and its now rooted tradition. (Duncan, 1995, p.21) However, predominant thought that questions seeing objects in a museum is proposed by the museum sceptics . According to Carrier, museum sceptics state that art in museums does not survive, meaning it loses its power. Museums de facto fail to preserve the art constituted in old objects that are collected. This belief also rejects time travel in museums since they argue that it is only an illusion. The final step is performing a post crisis analysis (Bernstein, J., 2016). How a Leader Should React to a Crisis A good leader should hold a meeting to figure out what went wrong and calm everyone down (Baldoni, J., 2011). Then, the leader needs to act within a reasonable amount of time (Baldoni, J., 2011). The leader must address the crisis and how it will affect the company (Baldoni, J., 2011). • 7. The Advent Of Industrialized Civilization Essay The advent of industrialized civilization has brought to us many remarkable feats that enhance our everyday lives. Such things as automobiles, airplanes, tractors, mainframe computers, and even relatively simple machines like lawnmowers have intertwined themselves into the everyday culture of modern day industrialized countries.. These products have provided us enormous benefits compared to the types of lives our ancestors used to live. In the eyes of some, the consequences of industrial activities that have evolved around the world will not pose any problems in the future, however as most have realized, this is not true. Contemporary production processes use fossil fuels such as oil, which release dangerous amounts of greenhouse gases into our atmosphere. In addition, certain products such as vehicles are notorious for their inefficient combustion cycles that also release comparable amounts of certain greenhouse gases into the air. Moreover, emissions from agricultural practices, land use change and forestry, and other industrial activities have led to dramatic increases in atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane and other gases since pre industrial times. (Fig. 1) The world was quick to act upon this realization by negotiating the Kyoto Protocol in December of 1997, the result of a process that began by a United Nations led conference in the early 90s. Since then, the debate for ratification among the negotiating countries has been ongoing, for the simple ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Importance Of Population Development In Australia 200 years after Australia s Indigenous forcibly had to share their land, the growth of population and development that Australia has experienced is unprecedented. Currently Australia s population stands at 24 Million and it is on a continuous rise, due to a combination of both, a high birth rate and a significant number of immigrants per annum. As a multicultural nation, the immigration intake is a major factor, and is said to have generated just over half (56%) of population growth, this is due to the demand to settle permanently in Australia, work for an amount of time or study as student (Wilson, 2017). Furthermore, interest in population policy was once again visited in 2010, when the current Prime Minister Kevin Rudd proclaimed that he supported a Big Australia , along with a released prediction that by 2050 Australia s population would reach 36 Million (Brown, 2011, pp.1). However, the opposition leader Tony Abbott, took this opportunity to gather support from the public, and argued for a sustainable population policy, and calling Rudd out on a reckless commitment , which Julia Gillard once Rudd was ousted, was also quick to favour, focusing her views on a sustainable approach to population growth (Brown, 2011, pp.2). The population policy debate is widely discussed and a driver for public concern, but the birth rate and the rate of net overseas migration is on a continuous high and both factors are relatively hard to control or predict. The Impact Of Underdevelopment On The Economy Every day countries around the world are faced with conflicts and problems due to undeveloped areas not having any companies to bring economic opportunities to the country. Having no economic or job openings can cause poverty. The Census Bureau reports poverty rates by work experience for people ages 18 to 64. In 2014, the overall poverty rate for people ages 18 to 64 was 14%. The poverty rates by work experience for that age group ranged from 3% to 34%. The development of countries relies heavily on whether or not business owners will bring their product to their state. When entrepreneurs do not start their company in an area with little economic or educational development, many people suffer health, educational and economic issues. Companies and citizens need to help the poor countries and the poor areas in the Untied States get what they deserve. Businesses and entrepreneurs need to start their companies in low income areas in order to increase opportunities for residents. The solution for the issue of underdevelopment can be solved by the help of others and that is what will solve this problem. Business owners want their product to sell as fast and as much as possible so they will build their companies in higher income areas. The transmittance of crystal violet is observed and recorded using a colorimeter and the data obtained is used to plot graphs which are manipulated using LoggerPro software to produce the desired outcome; rate of reaction of crystal violet. It must be noted that only the absolute value of the slope matters in this situation. Third order reactions have somewhat a similar story except they require a plot of 1/concentration versus time to determine rate of reaction. When all three graphs are plotted, the graph with the line of best fit, or the one in which all point seem to be on a straight line is the correct one for the reaction. This is easily drawn using the LoggerPro software. When all three graphs are drawn, the graph with the best fit line and lowest root mean square error, or the lowest deviation from the best fit line, is the graph to be used to determine reaction kinematics. This knowledge is acquired from the equations of the integrated rate laws which are explained in the textbook. The solutions are mixed in small amounts in cuvettes and inserted into the colorimeter, which reads the percentage transmittance during the time period. The colorimeter has an enclosed space for the cuvette to be inserted making sure light from other sources does not interfere with the reaction, hence providing accurate results. The rate of the reaction is determined by using the equation: Rate= k [CV+] [OH ], where k is the rate constant for the reaction. Physicalism suggests that everything about human beings can be explained just by looking at the pure physical processes of the body and specifically the brain, so clearly it presents a sound argument for why Gage endured such a drastic change in who he actually was. However, several occupations are still highly gender segregated (ACLU, 2013). It has been found that the choices of such occupations could be shaped during early childhood through gendered socialization. Playing with dolls is an important factor in the gender socialization process. Dolls boost the cultural ideals that are linked to the place of girls in the society. Barbie dolls tend to send negative images to young girls since they illuminate a fancy sexual figure that seems unattainable (Grade, Ward Hyde, 2008). There is limited data on the negative effects this doll has on the gender socialization of girls. This experiment seeks to assess whether experimentally controlling girls interaction with Barbie dolls when compared to a neutral doll influences their developmental ideas about who they want to be in the future. Gender is a socially constructed concept and it denotes the behavior and characteristics associated with either men or women (Sherman Zurbriggen, 2014). Different studies have shown that the comprehension and acceptance of gender roles commence at a very early age (Sherman Zurbriggen, 2014). Hess Professor Paschke Humanities 220 April 15, 2015 Technology: The Effects on Music throughout History Music and technology aid one another. In a way a person can capture music they love through technology and then the electronic companies flourish due to the sale and popularity of these electronic devices. If a person wants to listen to music they can turn on a stereo or TV, choose a CD or DVD to play, or listen to a songs downloaded in ITunes. All of these devices are proof to show how technology is used to record, play, and change the way music is heard. A look through history will show how far society has come in music alone. The development of technology has changed the way the music industry operates and the way society hears and purchases music today. It started off with humming, then singing. People sang in church choirs, in the living room, or on a stage. Music can be heard by vocals or by the melodic tune of instruments. People paid to go to symphonies and listen to composers perform their masterpieces. Family gathered around the piano, or at a church to listen to music on the holidays. Music was not portable, nor was it recordable. According to the novel, Looking Backward in 1888, the philosophy was that technology was the solution to the ills plaguing modern life and the means to achieve a perfect society (Katz, 51). Previously face to face interaction was touted as the primary method of interfacing with one another, now communication via the internet is almost mandatory to establish and maintain healthy relationships (Greenfield and Yan, 2006). This is especially true amongst children, adolescents and teenagers. The need for psychologists have never been greater in order to assess how individuals are able to acclimate to this societal change. Traditionally, there are two methods in which children, adolescents and teenagers communicate via the internet, through social media and video games. Each primary method presents their own unique social challenge. In response to the issues in of teenagers over use of the internet, psychologists are providing assistance for internet addictions at a greater rate. • 26. Advantages And Advantages Of Dsr DSR is a reactive protocol and therefore doesn t use periodic updates of routing information. It computes the routes whenever needed and then maintains them. The distinguishing feature of Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) is the use of source routing technique in which the sender of a packet determines the complete sequence of nodes through which the packet has to pass. The sender lists this route in the packet s header, to identify each forwarding hop by the address of the next node to which to transmit the packet on its way to the destination node There are two basic steps of DSR protocol: (i) Route discovery and (ii) Route maintenance. Every node in the network maintains a cache to store latest discovered paths. Before a node sends a packet, it first checks the cache whether there is an entry for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also the node keeps the freshness information of the entry to recognize whether the cache is fresh or not. If any intermediate node receives a data packet, it first checks whether the packet is sent to itself. If it is the destination, it accepts the packet else it forwards the packet using the route attached on the packet. B. Merits and Demerits of DSR Advantages of DSR are that routes are maintained only between nodes who wants to communicate and overhead of route maintenance is reduced. Route caching further reduces route discovery overhead. Many routes to the destination are yielded by a single route discovery due to intermediate nodes reply from local caches. The disadvantage is that the packet header size grows with route length as the route is cached .Flooding of route requests casuses it to reach all nodes in the network. Hence collisions may occur between route requests propagated by neighboring nodes. Nodes replying using their local cache increases contention. C. AODV ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was the scream of a man, and it would be the last sound he ever made before his very unfortunate death. The man would never be seen again by anyone who tried to search, unless they were smart enough to search for every tiny clue left behind. It was now six in the morning when the sun shined through Arthur s window. His phone rang, which caused him to wake. I will arrive as soon as I can. Thank you so much. And with that, Arthur hung up the phone, placing it on the table once again. He made his way out of bed, and began to get dressed as quickly as he could, and ran a brush through his hair to tame it somewhat. His own brother, Allistair, woke due to the noise Arthur made. Hochschild writes about the Belgian King Leopold s exploitation over the Congo. Leopold s rule over an African territory becomes a devastatingly lucrative monopoly over rubber. Leopold s brutal tactics and use of forced labor ultimately leads to millions of deaths of the Congolese natives. By providing an in depth analysis of what really occurred with Leopold and his exploitative proprietorship of the Congo Free State, Hochschild cogently convinces readers that beneath all of Europe s coaxing and flattery about their imperialism, there is an underlying nature of terror and an almost inescapable and pervasive essence of death and slavery. Hochschild perfectly depicts the drama arising from the deceitful manipulations, courageous resistances, and uncut greed into an enthralling piece of literature. Not only does Hochschild use the perspectives of Europeans, but he tells the untold truths of the natives in their abysmal states, having to face inevitable horrors and atrocities. The reader experiences the magnitude of effects that resulted in this imperialism, which may still last in modern day Africa. Hochschild s persuasion perfectly captures what it is that he wants the readers to take in the most: that Leopold s imperialism of the Congo did not only affect Europe and himself. Separating from the common curriculum of history class, Hochschild doesn t want to tell the readers that imperialism led to European nations gaining more markets, population, and raw materials: he wants the reader to understand that this all came at a cost. • 37. The Physics of Basketball Essay The Physics of Basketball The more and more I look around I begin to see how physics are integrated into practically everything that we do. These things would surely go unnoticed without making a conscious effort to notice them. For example simple things like riding a bike, or driving a car, or playing catch with a son or daughter. Just as these activities are loaded with elements of physics, sports are also, especially basketball. Physics play a part in every aspect of the game, from dribbling, passing, and shooting, to things as simple as setting a screen. First we should take a look at the elements of dribbling. Dribbling is all based on conservation of energy and the two different types of collisions, elastic and inelastic. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of this energy is transferred to the other player, but if they are properly setting the pick that player should not move. Since both players come essentially to rest, we can say that the energy was lost through and inelastic collision. Another basic element of basketball is that of passing the ball to another teammate. The physics involved in this process are velocity, momentum, and impulse. The ball has a mass and when it is thrown a velocity of the ball in created. From these two parts momentum is derived, P=mv (Kirkpatrick Wheeler 106). While playing basketball it may be to your advantage to increase or decrease the momentum of the ball when passing to a teammate depending upon the situation. When receiving a pass you catch or slow the balls momentum to zero, which is called impulse, the interaction that changes an object s momentum a force acting for a time interval (Kirkpatrick Wheeler 107). This is shown in an equation form by, F=P/Dt. By increasing the time over which you decelerate the ball, you lessen the force (Bill Willis 2001). This increase of stopping time will make it easier to catch and control the ball. Impulse is the same concept in many things like the automotive airbag, seatbelts, and landing pads for high jumpers. They are concerned about sabotage and productivity. They seem to think that if they retain the bad news until the last moment that the employees will leave and the rest will get back to business.
