Descriptive Essay On Earth Shot On Apple
Nothing is quite beautiful alone; nothing but is beautiful in the whole. A single object is only so
far beautiful as it suggests this universal grace. written by Ralph Waldo Emerson in Nature
highlights the difference in perspective viewing Earth from an external perspective versus our
own perspective. Stuck in our own world only we see what is in front of us restricting us from
seeing the larger whole of our real home. Captured on apple devices and compiled in an
advertisement, EarthShot on iPhone exhibits locations from all across the world reminding viewers
of what we as humans have forgotten and how mankind has treated its only home for countless
generations. The remaining art of nature which exists to satisfy the desire of beauty calls to action
that we are the ones responsible to maintain our planetand it is crucial to protect the environment
from our own doing. Narrated by Carl Sagan, Earth Shot on iPhone presents viewers with a slow
paced, thought provoking advertisement that stresses the beauty and significance our planet.
Opening with a shot of a shore looking out the the ocean, the sunset sets a calm tone while a
human figure walks slowly across the shore giving a sense of loneliness in such a vast landscape.
Warm colors such as orange, and yellow peek the horizon while cool blue dominates the sky and
reflects off the soaked, smooth sand. In another shot captured on the iPhone, we are hooked by an
image of a valley covered in dark green pine trees. The

Hyperion And Keats Comparison
Hyperion, Keats shows a remarkable development of his thought about the art of writing and
also about the poet who is just like a type of healer to humankind. Keats begins to write Hyperion
after returning from Scotland to nurse his dying brother Tom who is suffering from painful
tubercular. Tom died on December 1818 and after this shocking event Keats is unable to make
any appreciable progress on Hyperion. So due to the emotional disturbance he isn t quite ready to
write his epic. He tries to continue the poem but he only gives the reason in his letters of not
writing about it. He writes to the George Keats that I went on with it a little last night but it will
take some time to get into the vein again (qtd. in Grant F. Scott 196). Keats ... Show more content

477) and he gives attention to the deeper problems that affect humanity, especially the problem
of evil. He exposes himself to actual experience in it due to this a tragic epic, Hyperion in
comparison of Keats others poems, expresses the poet s mature judgment regarding the presence
of inescapable suffering and struggle of human life. This chapter contends that these suffering
and struggle are found in the both poems of Hyperion and The Fall when Saturn is overthrown
by his son Jupiter. He becomes sad due to the loss of his power then Thea leads him to a place
where the other Titans sit, similarly miserable, and discuss whether they should fight back
against their conquest by the new gods the Olympians. Titans who rules to the Olympians, and
are now destined to fall. They include Saturn (king of the gods), Ops (his wife), Thea (his sister),
Enceladus (god of war), Oceanus (god of the sea), Hyperion (the god of the sun) and Clymene (a
young goddess).Oceanus declares that he is willing to surrender his power to the new god of the
sea, Neptune because the old gods admit that their successors are more beautiful and therefore

Why Is Charlemagne Important
Charlemagne was born in Ingeleim April 2, 742. His death was on the date of January 8, in
either year 813 or 814. The exact year is unknown. He died in Aix la Chapelle. He married a
woman named Hildegrade, and later had a child with her. Their daughter was born on April 30, 783.
Charlemagne inherited a few things from his brother and father. They included a military
organization, wealth, and power. (Charlemagne.org)
Charlemagne was known as a strong king, and led the Franks to creating an empire of greatness.
He went into battle, conquering many neighboring kingdoms. The kingdoms included were
France, Northern Spain, Austria, and Italy. It is also said he was a great warrior, most of his time
was spent at war. He was later crowned by Pope Leo the third, to be the new emperor of the
Romans though at first he did not agree to it. (text book and notes.)
He was called Charles the great by many. This man built schools through out the whole empire
because he admired education. Scholars were brought with him to influence and teach his people
about religious and social life. He was important in history because he was a big part of the
spread of Christianity. (Notes) He was a promoter of civilization in the age of darkness. Before

Medieval Japan
Education in Medieval and Modern Day Japan
Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace, (12 famous Confucius
quotes on education and learning, 1). This quote is a good representation of the benefits of
education. In medieval Japan, education started to take center stage. First, this essay will focus on
why education was needed at that time. Second, it will state how it transformed over many
centuries. Finally, it will provide information of education s impact on society. Without the help of
education, people would not have been able to progress in many ways. First, learning was
important during the medieval times of Japan to be able to compete with the western world. It
started in 500 A.D. when Chinese language came to Japan. Initially, education was based on
Buddhism and Confucianism teachings. Therefore, religion and education were intertwined.
Mainly the upper class had access to education. Methods used to tutor the nobility class were visual
arts, music, dance, poetry, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, children are being taught by different people than they were many years ago. Earlier
monks, priests and samurai were accustomed to schooling them. Now that Japan has changed, only
teachers who have been specially trained are the educators of this country. In addition, kids are
being taught in a different manner than what was known to people in the medieval times. Reading,
writing, and learning to use an abacus were the only important things needed to know at that time.
Currently, social studies, music, crafts, english, physical education, and basic home economics
have been added to the list, being in alignment with western custom. Also, in 1886, mandatory
schooling was three to four years, but in 1908, the span increased to six years. Textbooks were
incorporated as well. To conclude, Japan has altered its way of teaching the youth since many

Powder Is A Form Of Cocaine
Cocaine is a stimulant. It causes the heart to beat faster and that can cause high blood pressure,
heart attacks, and strokes. Sometimes the heart beats so fast that it actually stops. Emergency
doctors are taught to diagnose cocaine first for young patients with no past heart disease history,
because cocainecauses frequent heart problems.
Powder is a form of cocaine. A person can snort it and have it be absorbed through the nasal tissue.
It can also be mixed with water and injected it into the bloodstream. Which lasts longer, compared
to smoking it.
Crack is also a form of cocaine, called freebase cocaine. Crack is processed to make a rock crystal,
and the crystal is heated to make vapors. Those vapors get to the bloodstream by the
lungs.

Regulation Framework Of Canada And Compliance
Regulation framework of Canada and compliance
Part 1
The current Canadian security regulation is managed by laws and agencies that have been
established by Canada s 13 provincial and territorial governments. Each of the province has its own
security regulator that is in charge of administration of the securities acts, regulations and rules. The
idea of setting up a national single security regulator has been suggested by various reports that
have outline a range of problems with the current system (Mark 121). The reports suggests that the
current system needs improvement and in a prompt manner. Concerns have been put forward that
the current regulation is too complex and is harmful to the security market operations. The current
system has also ben said to increase compliance costs hurting the Canadian market competitiveness
(Mark 123). In addition, the current regulatory system has been said to be slow to respond to
changes in the environment as there is need for agreement from all the thirteen authorities. The
global security market has also rendered its support for the establishment of a single regulatory
system. However, despite the problems and concerns over the current system in the last decade, the
current system still remains in place due to certain barriers if change to a centralized security
regulatory system that exist.

Red Robin Review
Looking for a fantastic place to spend quality time with family? Red Robin is obviously a
phenomenal choice where the whole family can dine! One can t go wrong with this place. From
the eccentric setting, the famous food, and deferential service, this restaurant completely
deserves five stars. Red Robin will satisfy every craving. So why waste money or obsess over
soggy McDonalds fries, when appetizing steak fries and gourmet burgers are awaiting for just a
dollar more? Try burgers such as the mouth watering Guacamole Bacon Burger, known for its
smoky, flavorful bacon. Or possibly the Whiskey River BBQ Burger basted with Red Robin s

Service in Red Robin is absolutely remarkable. With extremely courteous and humorous waiters
/waitresses, and very accurate and appropriate timing of food arriving, this restaurant is perfect
in every way. The service is quick which won t keep one too hungry. Also they keep customers
entertained in many different ways. For example, on a friend or family member s birthday, a
waiter or waitress can become a clown! They will come and sing to the one whose birthday it is
with their own special version of the Happy Birthday Song! They clap and sing and make
themselves look 100% ridiculous, but they are more than happy to do it to brighten up a
birthday. Again, one can t go wrong with Red Robin s superior, comical service which must be
experienced. Red Robin has to be a top choice from a critic s perspective for the perfect setting,
marvelous burgers, and respectful service when looking for the ideal dining place that is
outstanding and satisfying for the whole family! No need to worry about children being picky
and not finding what they enjoy. There are plenty of choices that no one can resist, including
kids. The children s menu is reasonable as well as the adult s menu! Not one burger or entrГ©e at
Red Robin is blasГ©; they are all fantastic and delightful! So why settle for fast food when one can
get the food fast and relax at the same time? Come to Red Robin to be a part of family,

Appreciate Your Heritage Some Americans remember where they came from; others don t.
That s the case in Daniel Chacon s story The Biggest City in the World . It is a story about
Harvey Gomez who is a Mexican American young man whose grandparents migrated to the
Unites States from Mexico. Harvey has only been to Mexico once in his entire life and neither of
his parents has ever been there before. Therefore he doesn t know anything about his native
culture or language. In this story Harvey travels deep inside of Mexico for the first time with his
Mexican history Professor David P. Rogstart and gets exposed to its culture and language. On the
contrary, Carolina ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poem Finding Home written by Carolina Hospital tells the story of how Mexicans who come
to America try to find their heritage in the United States. Like many who migrate to America, the
immigrants miss their country and are concerned about losing their culture. In contrast to Harvey
Gomez, this poem shows that many Mexicans in America appreciate their heritage. I have
travelled north again,/to these gray skies/and empty doorways, (Hospital 101). This shows that
they miss their native country and are concerned about forgetting their heritage. Perhaps Harvey
s grandparents thought the same thing when they first came to America from Mexico.
Regardless of their arrival in America, they want to return to Mexico someday. I must travel
again soon (Hospital 102). Despite leaving their native land they have respect for Mexico and
will visit again. After the experience that Harvey had in discovering his heritage, I am sure that
he will visit Mexico again. Daniel Chacon is clearly making a statement that Mexican immigrants
whose kids are born and raised in America forget their own culture. In the story Harvey Gomez is
denying his heritage and was embarrassed at times to admit that he is Mexican. This is because he
barely knows anything about Mexico and doesn t even speak the language. Eventually Harvey
accepts who he is and discovers his heritage throughout the story. I believe that Chacon wants to

How Did Augustus Caesar Use Propaganda
Introduction
Art and architecture consist the expression of society s ethos and moral character; they function
as its mirrors. Especially during times of crisis, change or instability, they reflect the state of its
values. When we look back in Rome in 27 BCE, the time when Augustus Caesar founded the
Roman Principate and became its first emperor, art served as one of his media to first claim, then
establish and finally stabilize his domination. As Paul Zanker comments rarely has art been pressed
into the service of political power so directly as in the Age of Augustus.
Augustus was a political genius who accomplished to establish peace (Pax Romana which is
sometimes called Pax Augusta to honour his name) and stabilize his position as the Roman
emperor between his rivals with great ingenuity. In order to understand the statement above, we
need to discuss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The use of propaganda throughout time, especially when it comes to politics, is a common and
widely adopted means of predominance and influence of the masses. However, looking back into
history, few people of power and politicians used propaganda as successfully and effectively as the
first emperor of Rome, Augustus Caesar.
As briefly mentioned above, over time Augustus dramatically altered the balance of power in the
Roman governance system without seeming to do so; indeed, in Res Gestae 34.3 he explicitly
claimed, I exceeded all in influence, but I had no greater power than the others who were
colleagues with me in each magistracy .
To understand Augustus means of influence to his audience and his agenda is to understand the
man himself as well as his ambitions for the Roman Empire. In an attempt to categorize his work, it
can be claimed that Augustus had two main themes in the use of propaganda. The first theme was
correlated to his concern to establish himself, his right to rule and his influence, while the second
one was his ambition to create and maintain peace and

There were many events that led to the fall of the Soviet Union. In my opinion, the most important
events that led to the fall of the Soviet Union were the Romanian Revolution, Velvet Revolution,
Prague Spring, Solidarity Movement, and the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The Romanian Revolution
was the 5th most important event because it was important revolution that resulted in many
causalities. The Velvet Revolution (4th most important) was a major event in the fall of the Soviet
Unionand was also a non violent one. The Prague Spring (3rd most important) showed that the

Germans from the East started to travel around the wall (from Germany to Hungary to Austria to
Germany). People became fed up so they took matter into their own hands and started destroying
the wall with sledgehammers. In 1990, East Germany and West Germany signed a treaty that unified
them.
The Solidarity movement in Poland occurred in 1980 and was the first event that led to the fall of
the Soviet Union. Solidarity was a trade union that was fighting for better working conditions. It
eventually became a politically party and demanded reforms.
The Prague Spring took place in Czechoslovakia in 1968. They tried to reduce the control the
Soviet Union had on them by implementing a couple of reforms. Alexander DubДЌek (Czech
leader) promised the Soviets they wouldn t leave the Warsaw Pact but despite this, the Soviets sent
troops to Czechslovakia. DubДЌek s was arrested and sent to Moscow.
Between November and December of 1989, the Velvet Revolution took place in Czechoslovakia.

Child Poverty
In the United States, child poverty has been a severe issue even when the country was established.
When looking at the statistics of child poverty from the past, it is clear that there was an
increasing number of families and children living in poverty. This trend dates back to the year
2000 when 11.6 million people were living in poverty. In 2007, the number of individuals suffering
from poverty rose to 13.4 million, (Arrighi Maume, 2007). This is due to the massive economic
fallout, also known as the Great Recession. The United States lost over 7.5 million jobs and the
unemployment rate doubled, which directly impacted parents and their children, (Grusky etc.,
2011). This crisis resulted in leaving many Americans financially insecure. Even though many of
the financially stable individuals suffered a great loss, they were able to utilize their resources to
navigate through the calamity and recover whereas those who were poor faced an economic issue
with greater impact. They were faced with foreclosures, bankruptcies and mortgage felonies. Most
importantly, the lives of the young children were negatively impacted as well. The four areas that
the children were affected by from the Great Recession were: health, hunger, housing, abuse and
neglect, (Wiltz 2015). In several households, there was at least one member that suffered from
malnourishment because of the inadequate food supply for the family. On the other hand,
numerous children were left to be homeless because of

Comparing Viva La Vida And The Count Of Monte Cristo
Power is the thing that keeps the world running although it is not always used correctly. It is the
same way in the novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, written by Alexandre Dumas, and the song,
Viva La Vida, written by Coldplay. The Count of Monte Cristo is about a man wrongfully
accused of a crime, and he is seeking out vengeance on the people who put him there using his
power. He believes that he has received this power from God which makes the man feel like he
is God, but he is proved wrong the hard way. Viva La Vida is similar because it is about a king
who had so much power he believed himself to be in control of everything like God. However,
the king was also proved wrong. In Viva La Vida and The Count of Monte Cristo, both the author
and the songwriter use diction and plot to develop the idea that power does not make someone

named Jack, who feels at fault for a terrible event that occurred over a year ago. Jack attempts to

opinion, this movie is not just one genre, but a mixture of several different genres combined,
romantic, comedy, horror, with a main focus on fantasy. Whether or not the movie accomplished

Anthropometry Technique And Physiological Changes
Anthropometry technique and physiological changes in life stages
Anthropometry has been around since the 19th century. Scientists have developed incipient
techniques such as MRI, CT scans for quantifying body compositions. According to Jellife (1966),
Anthropometry is the measurement of the variations of physical dimensions and composition of the
human body at different age levels . Anthropometry can be used to assess the nutritional status of
the individual within a population by determining physiological factors whether an individual is
well nourished or undernourished.
Anthropometric technique can be identified as a direct method and developed measurements of
body weight, height, circumference, and skinfold thickness. (1) Body mass index (BMI) is
calculated weight/height and used as Weight. The body weight takes into account the age and
gender of the individual. The weight was measured using a digital scale and used to categorise
both overweight or obesity and also eating disorders (Wells, 2006). Individuals will need to
remove heavier outer garments for example, jackets, coats and shoes, the scale will be balanced at
zero before the individual stands on the scale. The weight is measured in kilograms in adults. All
participants should be measured except pregnant women or persons who have difficulty standing.
Another technique is (2) the standing height measured with a wall mounted stadiometer which
measures the growth of the individual. The individual need

Gus Van Sant s Elephant
Van Sant s film represents the reality of high school, focusing on the look of its beauty,
characters, while also ignoring the basic grime inherent on most campuses. Van Sant takes pride
in portraying a valuable image. What s in the room really touches you if it is closely examined.
The hallways and the fields of the school are in pristine condition, staying abnormally clean,
almost too clean for a school. Despite this seeming glorification of the building, the hallways are
kept as a constant secondary to the sharply focused characters the camera constantly follows.
This really takes the focus away from the bare walls and empty hallways and places it directly on
the students. The film isn t about the location that it occurred, but more about the people that it
happened to. The focus is on the students of the film, both figuratively and literally. The camera
appears to look like it s never stop moving. It does halt for brief pauses that seem to relax the
viewer. There is some frustration upon watching because you can t collect all the data you need to
deconstruct the film. However the scenes do go go back and forth with each other sometimes. At
one point you may notice that you re following a student and it will cut into the perspective of
another student whom will pass by the student that was originally being followed. This sort of
filming can cause confusion but employs a nice twist to the film. The plot doesn t post the events in

The Dispassionate Analysis Document
As stated in the Dispassionate Analysis document, a dispassionate analysis is one that is
impartial and free from personal feelings or bias. In our modern world, we are surrounded by the
personal opinions of individuals on everyday matters including the environment. With all the
opinionated noise surrounding us it is important that we are cautious about not just relying on
what we hear to influence our own views and conclusions especially on issues such as the
environment. In our fast paced world, the media plays an integral part in our lives. As a result,
personalities such as Rush Limbaugh and Bill Maher have a greater influence on our society.
There are some that may rely on them as their sole source of news. However, it is important

Janet s Point Of View
Janet s Point of View in The Storm McKnight Malmar s story, The Storm , is a suspenseful short
story about a woman, later in the story revealed to be named Janet, coming home to an empty
house with no sign of her husband, Ben. The story is told in third person limited point of view
where the reader follows Janet who has to process her husband being gone, and finding the lifeless
body of a womanwhile alone in her isolated home during a thunderstorm. The story starts with
Janet being excited and relieved to come home to her husband, where she imagines a kind,
almost platonic Ben to welcome her home by kissing her cheeks and touching her shoulders
(Malmar, Pg. 1). Through the progression of the story, Janet uses her time alone to shift her
happy thoughts of Ben into doubt and reason. During the storm, Janet is able to see her life with
Ben as the abusive relationship it truly is. The first portion of the story begins with Janet having
high regards for her husband and the house they live in. She imagined a surprised Ben sitting by
the fire with his paper inside their home, with his face lighting up at her early return. In the
kitchen, she would make coffee for the two of them and talk by the fire. She sits in the house
without Ben, who is not home, and while alone, her attention shifts from her idealistic scenario
involving her husband to the ongoing storm and how it appears to be getting worse. From this
point of the story and onwards, Janet battles herself and how she

Julius Caesar Evil
Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar takes place in Rome at the time of Caesar s assassination.
After Caesar returns home, he is hailed as a war hero, and the citizens of Rome plan to crown him
as their ruler. Cassius, knowing Caesar will soon become a tyrant, convinces the honorable and
well respected Brutus, a good friend of Caesar, to murderhim for the good of the city. Although
many consider Julius Caesarthe hero of the play, Brutus is the true Shakespearean tragic hero. This
is proven first by his inherently honorable character. Furthermore, Brutus s loyalty, which in most
cases is considered a virtue, becomes a sin within the context of the story. Lastly, Brutus becomes
blind to reality, believing the murder of Caesar is a good and necessary act.
First and foremost, Brutus is proven to be a tragic hero by his good character. Brutus, unlike
Caesar, is a humble man, known in the town to be loyal and put others before himself. For
example, while Cassius attempts to rile Brutus up over Caesar s newfound fame, he argues the
point that Brutus has an inherent right to the throne. Brutus responds to this by saying that [he]
had rather be a villager / Than to repute himself a son of Rome (Shakespeare 1.2.180 181). While
Caesar is so intoxicated by the attention and fame he receives that he agrees to rule without any
critical thinking, Brutus, not blinded by greed or pride, is able to clearly see that taking on this
power would not be wise. Very few would be able to resist this opportunity to be at the center of
all this praise, but Brutus is both humble and wise enough to turn down what should be his role
because he realizes the ability to be worshipped is not enough to make a leader. Although literary
critic Harold Bloom argues that Brutus is ... morally rather vain ... [and] powerfully self centered (1
2), it is proven throughout the novel that Brutus has practically no ego and puts the needs of the
Romans before his own. Brutus is modest, intelligent, and at his center, a good person.
Another characteristic of Brutus that defines him as a tragic hero is his virtue of loyalty to Rome
used as a sin. The night before Caesar s downfall, Brutus receives an abundance of letters, declaring
Caesar unfit to be

Questions on Southern Comfort
Why is Brown Forman considering buying Southern Comfort? In your answer consider the
strategic motives of Brown and the arguments in favor of and against the acquisition (7 marks
/ total 20 marks). Brown Forman Distillers Corporation is by analysis in a generally more
favorable financial position relative to its major competitors. In the FY1978, the company held a
relatively higher profit margin, higher anticipated return on investment as well as higher profit
margin. The FY1978 financial report indicates that the company was in a positive position since
the balance sheet indicated strong results in regard to asset management as wells relatively low
level of debt to equity ratio. Even though the industry was facing a sluggish growth rate in terms
of sales, the company defied the odds of the market and continued to experience growth. These
allowed the company the opportunity to succeed in financing an expansion strategy via the
acquisition of Southern Comfort. Southern Comfort as a company too was considered a liquor
powerhouse due to its strategic ability to produce unique liquor made from a secret formula. This
formula was exclusive to the company s owners and allowed them to produce liquor of distinctive
flavor. Since Brown Forman s policy is to produce and sell only high quality products at high
/premium prices, South Comfort s product offering blended into its philosophical view of
producing a unique and high quality product with a very strong brand perception. The

Polysomnography Study
EMG The equipment that is needed to perform polysomnography is divided over certain sections
of the human body that need to be measured at the same time. The electromyography or EMG is
an electro diagnostic technique that records the electrical activity created by various skeletal
muscles. The signals that are going to be analyzed are detections of the activation levels of the
different muscles groups. An example for usage of an electromyography during polysomnography
is the detection of chin movement to ascertain the level of muscle tone, which is correlated with
the fluctuation of REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep and sleep onset. It can also provide us with
information about the patients movement in general. In certain situations when constant
monitoring of the patient is not entirely possible there is also the option to adhere said EMG
sensors to the limbs to detect periodic limb movements of sleep (PLMS). By monitoring the
anterior tibialis muscles in this fashion it allows us to determine the severity of the disorder by

Effects Of Ambition In Macbeth
Ambition and Destruction: Drugs and Murder
Will you do everything to get what you want? If your answer is yes then think again, it can lead to
disastrous situations. Macbeth is a play that deals with ambition and the negative effects it can
have. People relate to this play nowadays because it is a reflection of human nature at its core. This
is why the Russian Doping Scandal can be compared to this play. The way in which the Russian
government forced their athletes to take performance enhancing drugs to win the olympic medals
mimics the way in which Macbeth went against his own morality to be king. Therefore, they both
show that ambition can be taken to a destructive end.
Ambition may be a good thing, at least to a certain extent, but once that limit is passed, it becomes
destructive and makes people do things they would normally consider immoral. Macbeth believes

As soon as he realizes that the throne will not be handed to him he starts to plan how he will get

resulting in the deaths of Duncan, Banquo and Macduff s family. There is also a catalyst event, in
this case it is Malcolm being named the Prince of Cumberland, which elevated his ambition. Just

A Brief Note On Mexico s Agricultural Sector
Mexico s agricultural sector is renown in the international community for a myriad of goods that it
produces. From the cultivation of crops, sustainable soils, land usage and irrigation systems, its
rich land has helped Mexico s economy prosper in the 21st century. This feat is largely due to the
country s production and exportation of maize, one of their largest crops. However, in recent times
Mexicos agriculturesector has been affected by the vices of climate change and greenhouse emission
gases amongst other natural phenomenons. For the purpose of this paper the change of climatic
patterns in areas of temperature, precipitation and intensity will be discussed, as well as its
correlation to climate change and current weather trends, which have created unsustainable
environments for maize to grow.
Historically, Mexico s agriculture sector has followed a traditional style of crop production
focused on small scale farming. According to Luc Dendooven of the Center for Research and
Advanced Studies at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, traditional agriculture refer to
the widely used cultivation techniques that consist of low N fertilizer application rates, no or little
irrigation, removal of crop residue for animal feed or fuel, and little or no use of herbicides and
pesticides (237). The Mexican agricultural sector adapted this concept early on by utilizing basic
natural resources such as soil enrichment and rainfall. Such practice has been supported by author

A Worn Path Analysis
In A Worn Path , by Eudora Welty, we join Phoenix Jackson on her routine voyage to town for the
medicine her grandson needs to survive. Throughout this short story, it is obvious that there are
themes of persistence, struggle, and love. This struggle to the town is made apparent and is
emphasized by the stories setting along with the use of symbolism, and mood/atmosphere of the
story. The driving force behind the plot is this theme of persistence through the struggles and the
idea that loveconquers all, adds to Jacksons journey to the town to get the medicine. As Jackson
makes her way she faces hurdles that would make a normal person turn back, such as the barbed
wire fence (Welty, 503). But instead, Jackson carries on. I personally interpret that as a great
statement of love. Jackson was willing to go through barbed wire fences to help her grandson. In
addition, she not only was willing to go through the barbed wires but also was willing to beg so
that she could get her grandson a toy. Nothing stopped Jackson from doing all that she could for
her familyand to me that means more than anything. Symbolism plays a large part in the telling
of this story. Symbolism can be found in Phoenix Jackson s name just as much as in the small
toy she buys her grandson. The name Phoenix is referencing a mythical bird that is believed to
live in the desert and is capable of living up to 600 years. The Phoenix is said to set itself on fire
only to rise once again from its ashes. The symbol of the Phoenix expresses the endurance and
resilience of Phoenix Jackson. As she makes her way down the path she is embodying the long
lasting characteristic of the Phoenix. In addition, Jackson is constantly picking herself back up,
and keeping herself together. Just like the mythical bird, Jackson manages to continue on the
harsh and tortuous path, rising from her own ashes, all out of love for her grandson. While the
symbol of the phoenix is obvious, one might skip over the message behind the small toy Jackson
bought for her grandson. The pinwheel, or windmill as Jackson called it, is a circular collection of
blades that are pushed and turned in a continuous circular pattern by either wind or force (Welty,
507). This symbol

In fact, The greatest achievement in English history, the breaking the bonds of Rome , and the

Elizabeth was Queen but she established good ties with parliament. England did not need the rule

Regulation Framework Of Canada And Compliance Regulation framework of Canada and compliance Part 1 The current Canadian security regulation is managed by laws and agencies that have been established by Canada s 13 provincial and territorial governments. Each of the province has its own security regulator that is in charge of administration of the securities acts, regulations and rules. The idea of setting up a national single security regulator has been suggested by various reports that have outline a range of problems with the current system (Mark 121). The reports suggests that the current system needs improvement and in a prompt manner. Concerns have been put forward that the current regulation is too complex and is harmful to the security market operations. The current system has also ben said to increase compliance costs hurting the Canadian market competitiveness (Mark 123). In addition, the current regulatory system has been said to be slow to respond to changes in the environment as there is need for agreement from all the thirteen authorities. That s the case in Daniel Chacon s story The Biggest City in the World . It is a story about Harvey Gomez who is a Mexican American young man whose grandparents migrated to the Unites States from Mexico. Harvey has only been to Mexico once in his entire life and neither of his parents has ever been there before. Therefore he doesn t know anything about his native culture or language. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poem Finding Home written by Carolina Hospital tells the story of how Mexicans who come to America try to find their heritage in the United States. Like many who migrate to America, the immigrants miss their country and are concerned about losing their culture. In contrast to Harvey Gomez, this poem shows that many Mexicans in America appreciate their heritage. I have travelled north again,/to these gray skies/and empty doorways, (Hospital 101). This shows that they miss their native country and are concerned about forgetting their heritage. Perhaps Harvey s grandparents thought the same thing when they first came to America from Mexico. Regardless of their arrival in America, they want to return to Mexico someday. I must travel again soon (Hospital 102). Despite leaving their native land they have respect for Mexico and will visit again. After the experience that Harvey had in discovering his heritage, I am sure that he will visit Mexico again. Daniel Chacon is clearly making a statement that Mexican immigrants whose kids are born and raised in America forget their own culture. In the story Harvey Gomez is denying his heritage and was embarrassed at times to admit that he is Mexican. This is because he barely knows anything about Mexico and doesn t even speak the language. Eventually Harvey accepts who he is and discovers his heritage throughout the story. I believe that Chacon wants to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. How Did Augustus Caesar Use Propaganda Introduction Art and architecture consist the expression of society s ethos and moral character; they function as its mirrors. Especially during times of crisis, change or instability, they reflect the state of its values. When we look back in Rome in 27 BCE, the time when Augustus Caesar founded the Roman Principate and became its first emperor, art served as one of his media to first claim, then establish and finally stabilize his domination. As Paul Zanker comments rarely has art been pressed into the service of political power so directly as in the Age of Augustus. Augustus was a political genius who accomplished to establish peace (Pax Romana which is sometimes called Pax Augusta to honour his name) and stabilize his position as the Roman emperor between his rivals with great ingenuity. Charlesworth The use of propaganda throughout time, especially when it comes to politics, is a common and widely adopted means of predominance and influence of the masses. However, looking back into history, few people of power and politicians used propaganda as successfully and effectively as the first emperor of Rome, Augustus Caesar. As briefly mentioned above, over time Augustus dramatically altered the balance of power in the Roman governance system without seeming to do so; indeed, in Res Gestae 34.3 he explicitly claimed, I exceeded all in influence, but I had no greater power than the others who were colleagues with me in each magistracy . To understand Augustus means of influence to his audience and his agenda is to understand the man himself as well as his ambitions for the Roman Empire. In an attempt to categorize his work, it can be claimed that Augustus had two main themes in the use of propaganda. The first theme was correlated to his concern to establish himself, his right to rule and his influence, while the second one was his ambition to create and maintain peace and ... When looking at the statistics of child poverty from the past, it is clear that there was an increasing number of families and children living in poverty. This trend dates back to the year 2000 when 11.6 million people were living in poverty. In 2007, the number of individuals suffering from poverty rose to 13.4 million, (Arrighi Maume, 2007). This is due to the massive economic fallout, also known as the Great Recession. The United States lost over 7.5 million jobs and the unemployment rate doubled, which directly impacted parents and their children, (Grusky etc., 2011). This crisis resulted in leaving many Americans financially insecure. Even though many of the financially stable individuals suffered a great loss, they were able to utilize their resources to navigate through the calamity and recover whereas those who were poor faced an economic issue with greater impact. They were faced with foreclosures, bankruptcies and mortgage felonies. Most importantly, the lives of the young children were negatively impacted as well. The four areas that the children were affected by from the Great Recession were: health, hunger, housing, abuse and neglect, (Wiltz 2015). Scientists have developed incipient techniques such as MRI, CT scans for quantifying body compositions. According to Jellife (1966), Anthropometry is the measurement of the variations of physical dimensions and composition of the human body at different age levels . Anthropometry can be used to assess the nutritional status of the individual within a population by determining physiological factors whether an individual is well nourished or undernourished. Anthropometric technique can be identified as a direct method and developed measurements of body weight, height, circumference, and skinfold thickness. The weight was measured using a digital scale and used to categorise both overweight or obesity and also eating disorders (Wells, 2006). Individuals will need to remove heavier outer garments for example, jackets, coats and shoes, the scale will be balanced at zero before the individual stands on the scale. Van Sant takes pride in portraying a valuable image. What s in the room really touches you if it is closely examined. The hallways and the fields of the school are in pristine condition, staying abnormally clean, almost too clean for a school. Despite this seeming glorification of the building, the hallways are kept as a constant secondary to the sharply focused characters the camera constantly follows. This really takes the focus away from the bare walls and empty hallways and places it directly on the students. The film isn t about the location that it occurred, but more about the people that it happened to. The focus is on the students of the film, both figuratively and literally. The camera appears to look like it s never stop moving. It does halt for brief pauses that seem to relax the viewer. There is some frustration upon watching because you can t collect all the data you need to deconstruct the film. However the scenes do go go back and forth with each other sometimes. At one point you may notice that you re following a student and it will cut into the perspective of another student whom will pass by the student that was originally being followed. Janet s Point Of View Janet s Point of View in The Storm McKnight Malmar s story, The Storm , is a suspenseful short story about a woman, later in the story revealed to be named Janet, coming home to an empty house with no sign of her husband, Ben. The story is told in third person limited point of view where the reader follows Janet who has to process her husband being gone, and finding the lifeless body of a womanwhile alone in her isolated home during a thunderstorm. The story starts with Janet being excited and relieved to come home to her husband, where she imagines a kind, almost platonic Ben to welcome her home by kissing her cheeks and touching her shoulders (Malmar, Pg. 1). Through the progression of the story, Janet uses her time alone to shift her happy thoughts of Ben into doubt and reason. During the storm, Janet is able to see her life with Ben as the abusive relationship it truly is. The first portion of the story begins with Janet having high regards for her husband and the house they live in. She imagined a surprised Ben sitting by the fire with his paper inside their home, with his face lighting up at her early return. In the kitchen, she would make coffee for the two of them and talk by the fire. After Caesar returns home, he is hailed as a war hero, and the citizens of Rome plan to crown him as their ruler. Cassius, knowing Caesar will soon become a tyrant, convinces the honorable and well respected Brutus, a good friend of Caesar, to murderhim for the good of the city. Although many consider Julius Caesarthe hero of the play, Brutus is the true Shakespearean tragic hero. This is proven first by his inherently honorable character. Furthermore, Brutus s loyalty, which in most cases is considered a virtue, becomes a sin within the context of the story. Lastly, Brutus becomes blind to reality, believing the murder of Caesar is a good and necessary act. First and foremost, Brutus is proven to be a tragic hero by his good character. Brutus, unlike Caesar, is a humble man, known in the town to be loyal and put others before himself. For example, while Cassius attempts to rile Brutus up over Caesar s newfound fame, he argues the point that Brutus has an inherent right to the throne. Brutus responds to this by saying that [he] had rather be a villager / Than to repute himself a son of Rome (Shakespeare 1.2.180 181). While Caesar is so intoxicated by the attention and fame he receives that he agrees to rule without any critical thinking, Brutus, not blinded by greed or pride, is able to clearly see that taking on this power would not be wise. Very few would be able to resist this opportunity to be at the center of all this praise, but Brutus is both humble and wise enough to turn down what should be his role because he realizes the ability to be worshipped is not enough to make a leader. Although literary critic Harold Bloom argues that Brutus is ... morally rather vain ... [and] powerfully self centered (1 2), it is proven throughout the novel that Brutus has practically no ego and puts the needs of the Romans before his own. • 35. Effects Of Ambition In Macbeth Ambition and Destruction: Drugs and Murder Will you do everything to get what you want? If your answer is yes then think again, it can lead to disastrous situations. Macbeth is a play that deals with ambition and the negative effects it can have. People relate to this play nowadays because it is a reflection of human nature at its core. This is why the Russian Doping Scandal can be compared to this play. The way in which the Russian government forced their athletes to take performance enhancing drugs to win the olympic medals mimics the way in which Macbeth went against his own morality to be king. Therefore, they both show that ambition can be taken to a destructive end. Ambition may be a good thing, at least to a certain extent, but once that limit is passed, it becomes destructive and makes people do things they would normally consider immoral. • 36. A Brief Note On Mexico s Agricultural Sector Mexico s agricultural sector is renown in the international community for a myriad of goods that it produces. From the cultivation of crops, sustainable soils, land usage and irrigation systems, its rich land has helped Mexico s economy prosper in the 21st century. This feat is largely due to the country s production and exportation of maize, one of their largest crops. However, in recent times Mexicos agriculturesector has been affected by the vices of climate change and greenhouse emission gases amongst other natural phenomenons. For the purpose of this paper the change of climatic patterns in areas of temperature, precipitation and intensity will be discussed, as well as its correlation to climate change and current weather trends, which have created unsustainable environments for maize to grow. Historically, Mexico s agriculture sector has followed a traditional style of crop production focused on small scale farming. According to Luc Dendooven of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, traditional agriculture refer to the widely used cultivation techniques that consist of low N fertilizer application rates, no or little irrigation, removal of crop residue for animal feed or fuel, and little or no use of herbicides and pesticides (237). The Mexican agricultural sector adapted this concept early on by utilizing basic natural resources such as soil enrichment and rainfall. Such practice has been supported by author ... • 38. A Worn Path Analysis In A Worn Path , by Eudora Welty, we join Phoenix Jackson on her routine voyage to town for the medicine her grandson needs to survive. Throughout this short story, it is obvious that there are themes of persistence, struggle, and love. This struggle to the town is made apparent and is emphasized by the stories setting along with the use of symbolism, and mood/atmosphere of the story. The driving force behind the plot is this theme of persistence through the struggles and the idea that loveconquers all, adds to Jacksons journey to the town to get the medicine. As Jackson makes her way she faces hurdles that would make a normal person turn back, such as the barbed wire fence (Welty, 503). But instead, Jackson carries on. I personally interpret that as a great statement of love. Jackson was willing to go through barbed wire fences to help her grandson. In addition, she not only was willing to go through the barbed wires but also was willing to beg so that she could get her grandson a toy. Nothing stopped Jackson from doing all that she could for her familyand to me that means more than anything. Symbolism plays a large part in the telling of this story. Symbolism can be found in Phoenix Jackson s name just as much as in the small toy she buys her grandson. The name Phoenix is referencing a mythical bird that is believed to live in the desert and is capable of living up to 600 years. The Phoenix is said to set itself on fire only to rise once again from its ashes. The symbol of the Phoenix expresses the endurance and resilience of Phoenix Jackson. As she makes her way down the path she is embodying the long lasting characteristic of the Phoenix. In addition, Jackson is constantly picking herself back up, and keeping herself together. Just like the mythical bird, Jackson manages to continue on the harsh and tortuous path, rising from her own ashes, all out of love for her grandson. While the symbol of the phoenix is obvious, one might skip over the message behind the small toy Jackson bought for her grandson. The pinwheel, or windmill as Jackson called it, is a circular collection of blades that are pushed and turned in a continuous circular pattern by either wind or force (Welty, 507). This symbol ...
