4. About TiE
The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a
group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals
with roots in the Indus region. There are currently 13,000 members, including over
2,500 charter members in 57 chapters across 14 countries. TiE's mission is to foster
entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, and education. Dedicated
to the virtuous cycle of wealth creation and giving back to the community, TiE's focus join TiE!
is on generating and nurturing our next generation of entrepreneurs.
TiE Bangalore is one of the top 5 large chapters in the TiE Global network.
The Chapter has been operating from 1999 and have brought significant value to the
entrepreneur ecosystem in Bangalore/Karnataka. TiE Bangalore has a distinguished
100 plus Charter Members and over 700 Associate Members. Charter members
include successful entrepreneurs, venture Professionals, angel Investors, mentors
and service providers and senior corporate executives who drive the activities of
networking, education and mentoring for the start up and aspiring entrepreneurs.
This 'nursery of entrepreneurship' has over the last 4 year has delivered over 200
plus programs and benefited over 10000 participants. The 'Entrepreneur
Acceleration Program' one of the flagship programs of the TiE Bangalore Chapter
have qualified over 15 organizations of which Redbus, Picsquare and Jade Magnet
have crossed several significant milestones in their entrepreneur journey. The 'TiE
Summit 2008' (TES 2008) hosted by TiE Bangalore was attended by over 1700
participants and had over 40 sessions with 130+ speakers.
