1. Valve Source Inc.
I chose Valve Source Inc. because they’ve revolutionized the
gaming industry with the steam platform and source
engine. I’ve been using these products since my early teens.
I find the cloud storage it uses to store your games for the
entirety of having an account is what gave them the unique
move in the game world at the time.
3. What is Valve?
• Valve creates games.
• One of the most profound games include Half
Life and Counterstrike on source.
• They create very good games in my opinion
some of the most standard setting games
including the way they administer the
software to the customer with the steam
platform.
6. Valve Reveals First Gen Steam
Machines
• In all honesty I would trust this site simply because it’s
the….source. Since the site is the official company website I
would trust the information put on its news page. Of course
the information may seem a little bias because they want
to put the products in the lime light. They don’t overly sell
the product though. The writing is informative to the
reader and lets them know the update on the steam box.
I’ve been using steam since I was a young teen and I think
its great that they are finally going to make a console of
their own. This article is just true credible info about this
long awaited product that’s been in the works for a little
under 13 years. I’m not sure who wrote the article but I’m
sure they have a team of people as apposed to one person
that updates news on their corporate website.

8. Half Life 3 trademark spotted
• For a page such as this I would take it less
seriously. Although the article does not say any
specific out come of the possibility of Half-Life 3 .
The writer merely poses that it could be in the
works. Although it seems hopeful the author
never says that it’s a definite yes. As much as I
would enjoy to hear the news that HL3 is going to
be coming out soon I would not necessarily
believe it from this website. Even if the article is
credible I would rather refer back to the official
website for all my Valve Source updates.
9. So then…
I did some searching with the search
parameters….

11. Half-Life 3: Newell explains why Valve
doesn’t pump out sequels
At least with this article I am given a name of the person that wrote this article. Dave
Cook talks about the delay in Valves release of HL3 and poses an understandable
argument. His source is IGN but I don’t really know because I did not see an interview
with Gabe Newell in it saying these things. IGN is a credible source as far as I know. I
honestly would believe this article but I am always in skepticism when it comes to
reporters quoting people in a statement such as this. Again I say as much as I would
love to hear about the release of this long awaited game I honestly don’t believe it
simply because Gabe has said many things before about when they were going to
publish this game. There are no particular sides here unless you count the fact that
IGN or Dave Cook are standing up for Gabe in this article. Making excuses if you will
for a man that has delayed its fans the game they have been wanting for a long time. I
for one am starting to lose faith in Gabe in his statement though I don’t want to lose
complete fandom of this series. Valve always tried to release standard setting games. I
can understand in my opinion why one would wait to post an astounding game as
compared to a small sequel that sucks. This article does not succeed in convincing of
anything accept that Valve is only prolonging the wait even further. I appreciate some
of the information put here for me to read but I only take it with a grain of salt. At
least the written interview does not seem to copy its wording from another source. If I
did more research as I’ve said before I could probably find out if there were any.
12. What to do While Waiting For Half Life

• The article talks about how Valve is not talking about HL3.
• The article is biased towards the idea that Valve is not releasing any
information on HL3.
• The article is trying to convince me as up April 13th there are other
things to do while waiting for this long awaited release.
• No sources or citations.
• There is one link to another article. Another article on mods for the
original Half-Life game.
• Yes the links are still active. The article does not have any copyright.
13. What to do While Waiting For Half Life
3:
With this page I have come to the conclusion that we all want this
sequel and we need things to do in the mean time. The article I’m
reading here tries to take the focus off of the release and makes a little
bit of a joke about the fact that it has taken so long to show up. Gabe
has still continued to postpone his statements about HL3 and I will
only wait for an actual confirmation. I see this as a marketing strategy.
The thing I see happening here is a brilliant concept. Keep people
wondering for years and when the word gets around every one will
want to have a part of this game. I digress though. There are no links
or other citations so I’m no sure if this is credible enough for me as far
as saying what Valve is doing but they do note that Gabe has not said
much. I like knowing an actual name for the writing in the article I’m
reading of course this does not necessarily change my opinion about
the topic given. I enjoy researching topics I find interest in and I like to
find credible information and not complete crap.
14. Conclusion
• I found that in this week of learning what it means to find credibility in an
authors writings. There are many ways to find the true information one is
looking for. I feel as though peoples opinions and bias do get in the way
constantly. With hidden agendas and etc.. One can only be left in oblivion
and become a complete nihilist when it comes to this force fed
information given to us. I chose Valve as my topic of research but this
format can be applied to any type of information given so if one does want
to know they may ask questions and find out. Also one may ask questions
and be lied to , lead astray and told what you want to hear. I don’t mean to
be so cynical I just like intelligent answers to my formulated questions. I
have to use the word reliable as well. Not to be robotic or anal neither. I
just am happy that I am able to find reliable sources for my information via
the internet. I may have already understood that I can’t believe them all.
Seeing as we live in an age where all the tools resources are at our finger
tips we are able to present information as regular people since now we
don’t have to always listen to what the guy in the box is saying. I take that
and run with it and further my education on trusting what I read. I can
almost compare this to the next level of “ I saw it on TV”. Thank You.
