2. Open up the current SolidWorks
SolidNetWork License Administrator
First off you want to transfer your
license off to be safe before we
upgrade, make sure todo this when no
one is needing to use SolidWorks as
they will not be able to gain a license
during this process.
To Transfer or Activate the license you
will need to click the ‘Modify’ button
and follow the on screen prompts

3. You can check what version of the
SolidNetWork License Administrator is
installed by clicking the ‘About’ here it
will tell you the version installed
•Version: 20 = 2012
•Version: 19 = 2011
•Version: 18 = 2010
Now that you have transferred off
the license from the Administrator
you can now close the program and
locate your installation files, these
may be present on a CD/DVD, Locally
on your machine, or even from the
SolidWorks Download.

4. Navigate to the installation files that
you have, as previously said you may
have these locally on your machine or
on a CD/DVD or other source.
Open the folder containing the
installation data and scroll down to
setup.exe and double click on it to run.

5. Once you start the installation it will
initiate, then throw the follow screen
below,
Here you want to select server
products> Upgrade SolidNetWork
License Manager(Administrator)
Once that is selected continue next,

6. Once you have selected the server
product to upgrade, the installation
manager will perform a system check it
will then progress to the Summary
section,
here you can verify the installation
locations and so forth, please continue
next to Install Now

7. Now that the installation has
completed, the upgrade has been done
from the previous version to the
current new version i.e. 2012
To finish you just need to complete
some of these boxes and click Finish,
From here please proceed to open up
the SolidNetWork Administrator
Program,

8. To verify that everything has updated
correctly now go to the About section
within the SolidNetWork License
Manager and click About as stated
before the Version number should
correspond to the upgraded version.
To completely finish the upgrade, you
will now need to Activate your license,
same as before by clicking Modify then
Activate license and follow the
prompts.
You are now complete and after your
upgrade you should be able to gain a
license on the new Software and the
old Software,
