2. Speaker profile
Nguyen Hoanh Son is the chairman of SonMinerals, who has
technical, management and business skills gained through 10 years of
experience in plant operation, pilot plant test work, plant design, plant
commissioning, process optimisation, business analysis, marketing
strategies, operations management, product & brand development ,IPO,
M&A acts at major mining companies as Mitraco, Mangan, Hopthanh,
Amigo Minerals, DQCL,Vinatitan, DuongLam JSC.
From 2004 to 2009 he worked as asistant for chairman
of Vietnam Titanium Association. He has strong network with most of
mineral sand producers from the North to the South of Vietnam.
Son is presently working as consultant for many Metal and Industrial
minerals projects throughout the country. SonMinerals is absorbed in all
processes related to M&A, technical valuation, markerting, technology

transfering, feasibility study, and PM services from “mine to market”
to add value to the Vietnamese potential mineral resources .

 Too many producers with small capacity ( more than 60 producers )
 Chinese model in operations, low recovery at mining and processing
 illegal export volume increasing
 No Tio2 pigment production
 Production from provincal deposits bigger than Industrial deposits
 Too much depend on the Chinese market when have apportunities to
discover the other markets by improving the current quality of products
 New mega projects base on the new red sands resources in the Sourth in
come on stream in next three years , those projects will change the
structure of industry.
