 Characters are younger and more attractive for a change

 Messy haired young girl with male shows she quite promiscuous
 Makes younger teens want to watch it and rebel against their parents from the text
 “popularity has its price” shows its set in school and is important in American schools to be popular
 “Every parent’s nightmare” – shows narrative of a girl and is obviously going against her parents
 Lighting is focused on the girls facial impression

 Before and after picture shows the change in the character from the person in the show
 Jumper in the left image shows that she is Spanish from her Spanish jumper/poncho
 Glasses and braces shows it’s the same girl
 Goes from dressing badly with manic smile to well dressed with a normal smile suggesting she may be happy and successful and socially acceptable now

 Words “SKINS” can relate to sex and drugs from the rizzler paper

4. DRUG STORY – Story
Board 1:
This story includes Monica and
Sam playing the roles of Mon and
Grimmers.
Mon is Grimmers boyfriend and is
being persuaded into taking drugs
against her own will, this is
affecting their relationship as Mon
becomes weak and is displayed
through out the shot types as she
backs away from her boyfriend.

5. SEXUALITY – Story
Board 2:
The gay story line includes
myself, Sophie and Josh. Playing
the roles of JP and Soph.
This story line is about JP
struggling to come out with his
sexuality of being gay. There is a
slight shock and struggle of
Sophie's understanding to this
which clearly affects JP.

6. RUN AWAY STORY –
Story Board 3:
This storyboard includes Harriett
and Shadia playing the roles of Hal
and Shad.
Our third story line was the
conflict between two sisters which
resolved in one running away and
leaving home, leaving her sister at
home alone, confused and
shocked.

camera when filming the trailer for
our soap opera FRESHERS. Myself and
my group carefully planned what
shots we would use in the three
separate story lines that we chose to
further to use for the final trailer.

We decided to put Josh in these clothes to stereotype him so the audience automatically pick up on his sexuality.
SAM
•Cap to shadow face

•Make up under eyes to darken
Sam wears dark clothes to connote danger and it creates dark atmosphere when the shot is on him because of the
dark colours.
HARRIET
•Big over sized coat
•Holdall bag (stuffed with pillow)
•Scarf
The scruffy look creates a homeless look to Harriett’s character and giving her a big holdall makes it clear to the
audience that she’s running away.
MONICA
•Jeans
•Casual white t-shirt/top
•Hoody
The use of the colour white within Monica’s outfit connotes innocence when Sam pressures her into taking the drugs.
SOPHIE
•Everyday casual
We kept Sophie wearing casual everyday clothes so the audience are directly drawn to Josh.
SHADIA
•Jogging bottoms
•Scruffy t-shirt
This creates the realism in the shot of Shadia also showing the audience she lives there.
