In indie folk music the following instruments are often used.

The fashion…
• The clothes worn by indie folk artists are often
very natural.
• The artists often dress to match their setting
• Some artists dress in a formal dress code, like
shirts buttoned to the top and waste coats.

4. Codes and conventions
• Many artists have beards or shaggy looking hair. The artists
are often not perfect in their look.
• Ambient lighting is often used in videos and photo-shoots to
give the calm and relaxed atmosphere the music is associated
with.
• A photo-shoot for an indie rock artist would often be outside.
They may use a vintage filter and soft lighting. If the artist is a
band the photo-shoot will show the whole band, often not in
strict hierarchical order to show the laid back fell of the music.
