2. 1) Place egg’s in vinegar
to remove the shell
2) Measure the weight of
the egg using a balance
3) Measure the size of
the egg using a
measuring tape
4) Place one egg in corn
syrup, and then place the
other egg in water
5) Weigh and measure
the egg’s again
3. I think that the corn
syrup egg (bob) will
be heaver & I think
Bob will stay the
same size, I also
think that Bob will
become a brownish
colour.
4. I think that the
water egg ( Steve )
will be heavier and
will be bigger & will
become slightly
transparent & pale
6. 1) vinegar- the Weight:67g Weight:44g
Shell has been Corn syrup
Dissolved Size:16.1cm Size:13.2cm
2) corn syrup- (24 Weight:77.4 Weight:91.1
hours) it began to g g
shrivel and get Water egg
Size:16cm Size:17.5cm
smaller
3) water – (24
hours) it now is
puffed up & looks
like a balloon
7. Water egg- the water egg got larger
because the water moved into the
egg.
This was because the egg had less
water than the outside.
The water moved from higher
concentration to lower
concentration (see graph for more
info).
The corn syrup egg- the corn syrup
egg got smaller because water
moved out of the egg.
This happened because there was
more water in the egg then the corn
syrup.
My hypothesis was wrong about the
corn syrup egg’s; size, weight, and
how it would look.
My hypothesis was wrong about the
water eggs weight
Mt hypothesis was right about the
