- We are one of 14 Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups through Washington State formed by a mandate from the legislature in 1989. Our group was formed soon after in 1991. Since that time we have grown to include a board of 9 directors, 4 full time and 2 part-time staff members. Our newly revised mission as stated here is:
- Welcomes
- These grants allow us to use the WRIAs 3-Year Work Plans to locate and develop projects that restore salmonid and aquatic habitats in Thurston and Mason counties.
- Excellent engineering and a great construction crew made both of these projects a success for salmon, the FFF program and the grateful landowners.
- The phase II project built upon work completed in Phase I 2010. Phase II saw the completion of 13 ELJs and the removal a mile of road from the floodplain totaling over 60,000 cubic yard of fill removed from the river, and reconnection of at least 80 acres of floodplain. After year 1 construction the river has already shifted and is occupying area which were formerly road fill and juvenile salmon are already using the shade and pools the log jams are creating.
- Restored Shoreline habitat and salt-marsh wetlands for juvenile salmonids, and Chum spawning Two properties, Randall owned by CLT and Allison Springs owned by City Olympia Emphasize CLT: spear-headed project and obtained funding
