• To convert degrees Centigrade to Fahrenheit, we use
this formula: 9/5C + 32 = F.
• To convert Fahrenheit to Centigrade That formula is: C
= 5/9 F-17.777.

• For feminine singular: une
• For plural (masculine and feminine): des

9. How to conjugate verbs

• You have to make sure that your ending corresponds
with your subject.

• Tu: You (familiar) Vous: You (plural and formal)
• Il: He Ils: They
• Elle: She Elles: They (all girls)
• On: “One” “Someone”

10. How to conjugate ‘er’ verbs
• In French, there are –er verbs, -ir verbs, -re verbs and irregular
verbs. We are going to start with –er verbs.
• First you drop the –er
• Then you add the appropriate ending
• Je E Nous ONS
• Tu ES Vous EZ
• Il/Elle E Ils/Elles ENT
• **pronunciation: the e, es, ent are all pronounced the same. The –ez is
pronounced the same as the –er (the long A sound) The ons- you don’t
pronounce the S unless the next word starts with a vowel (aime, aimes,
aiment… aimer, aimez… aimons)
• ** Je shortens to j’ in front of a vowel sound

There are a couple of ways to show possession in French. One way
is to use a word like mon / maor ton / ta. But what if the item is not
mine or yours? Then we need to say it belongs to someone else. In
English, we show possession with an apostrophe, then s. Paul's, my
dad's, etc. There is no apostrophe in French.
• In order to show possession in this way in French, we say it like
this: C'est la veste de Paul.It's the coat of Paul.(It's Paul's coat.)
• There's a slight change if we are saying that more than one item
belongs to someone:
• Ce sont les chaussettes de Paul.
