                                                                                                                   THE brief was to design a contemporary, open plan office in a basement site,
                                                                                                                   for a consultancy firm with international clients. The design evolved around

                                                                                                                                                                                The roof was conceived as a surface spanning over

COMPETITION brief was to propose a free-standing, prefab dwelling unit with the potential for expansion as an urban scheme, of a footprint
no more than 400sf (37.5sm) in an urban setting anywhere in the world. Fit for two adults, basic program included sleeping, bathing, cooking,
living, working /studying, and storage areas.

Besides being simple, modular and minimalistic in terms of construction and multiplication, this living unit goes one step beyond by incorporating
the possibilities of using available local skills combined with traditional and modern sustainable design elements and techniques. Finally the
design provides the dwellers ample opportunity to customize their own spaces, both externally and internally, which they can call home.

The design evolved around introduction of daylight through the slit window, sensitivity to materials, use of vibrant colors and efficient organisation of space. The existing shell had flat slab construction, thus enabling utilization of the entire height. The strip window on two sides, the only source of daylight was fully glazed to allow maximun daylight into the space.
