This one is on Canada for my Geography class.
2. Geographical position
• Canada is in the northern part of North
America and it’s the second largest country
by total area (after Russia)
• Borders :
to the South : USA
to the West : Pacific Ocean
to the East : Atlantic Ocean
to the North : Arctic Ocean
• Climate is variable with the specific areas
3. Government of Canada
The official capital of Canada since 1855 is
Ottawa. In Canada there is a parliamentary
system within the context of a constitutional
monarchy .There are 308 members of the
parliament. Canada’s sovereign is England’s
Queen Elizabeth II. At the moment, prime
minister of Canada is Stephen Harper.
5. Physical environment
• Many regions - steep and rugged mountains,
islands, flat plains, rolling landscape, and
indented coastlines .
• A big part of the east side of Canada is taken
by great lakes. The Canadian shield occupies
1/3 of Canada’s territory, north of it – the
Arctic islands ,west of it are the Prairies. To
the East lies The Appalachian highlands .The
western side is taken by the Rocky

7. Natural resources
• Most important natural resources of Canada
are :
Iron ore ,copper ore, gold ore, nickel, zinc, coal,
petroleum, asbestos, natural gas etc.
9. States and provinces
Canada is divided in three territories and ten
provinces.
•Provinces have more autonomy than
territories, having responsibility for social
programs such as health care, education, and
welfare.
11. Demographic characteristics
The country’s population is 33,476,688
(2011).Official languages are English and French.
Most of the population lives up to 150 km from
the US border. The density of the population is ~
3.41/km2 ( for ex. Bulgaria’s density is 66.2/km2 )

13. Economy
Canada has mixed economy and it’s placed 11 th
in the world. There is a strict market economy
about supplying and demanding. The currency
in Canada is dollar. Also, the country is part of
the group “The Group of 8”.
The main factors for the it’s great economy are :
•Large food production, gold, natural gas, oil
etc.
14. Problems
Poor television programming and excessive

Job losses, many people lost their jobs because
of the economy crisis High percentage of
homelessness, as well as the immigrants
