The high altar contains a masterpiece of Catalan art by Jaume Huguet (1464) featuring themes from the Adoration of the Magi and the Crucifixion, known as the Constable Retablo. At the end, under a large arch, is the semicircular stairway leading to the Royal Palace. The former sacristy has a large iron mechanical clock dating from the year 1576. The frieze is gothic and mudejar, and has an inscription and the date when it was carved: 1452, when Enrique (Henry) IV was still a prince. Angels with "pavesinas" (small oblong shields) bearing the coats of arms of Castile and Leon are the central ornament of the frieze. Of the furniture, the most outstanding pieces are a 17th century gilded and color-stained desk and three folding chairs, called "jamugas", one of which has ivory inlay. The walls are decorated with damasks and two Flemish tapestries dating from the 15th and 16th centuries.
