Earth Song lyrics
What about sunrise
What about rain
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain...
What about killing fields
Is there a time
What about all the thing
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we've shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
This crying Earth its weeping shores?
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
What have we done to the world?
Look what we've done.
What about all the peace,
That you pledge your only son?
What about flowering fields?
Is there a time?
What about all the dreams,
That you said was yours and mine?
Did you ever stop to notice,
All the children dead from war?
Did you ever stop to notice,
This crying Earth its weeping shores?
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
Although I know we've drifted far
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Hey
what about yesterday
(What about us)
What about the seas
(What about us)
The heavens are falling down
(What about us)
I can't even breathe
(What about us)
What about everything
(What about us)
I given you
(What about us)
Prof. Alejandra Cortés & Lic Stella M. Saubidet O.
What about nature's worth
(ooo, ooo)
It's our planet's womb
(What about us)
What about animals
(What about it)
We've turned kingdoms to dust
(What about us)
What about elephants
(What about us)
Have we lost their trust
(What about us)
What about crying whales
(What about us)
We're ravaging the seas
(What about us)
What about forest trails
(ooo, ooo)
Burnt despite our pleas
(What about us)
What about the holy land
(What about it)
Torn apart by creed
(What about us)
What about the common man
(What about us)
Can't we set him free
(What about us)
What about children dying
(What about us)
Can't you hear them cry
(What about us)
Where did we go wrong
(ooo, ooo)
Someone tell me why
(What about us)
What about baby boy
(What about it)
What about the days
(What about us)
What about all their joy
(What about us)
What about the man
(What about us)
What about the crying man
(What about us)
What about Abraham
(What was us)
What about death again
(ooo, ooo)
Do we give a damn
Aaaaaaaaah Ooooooooh

The Water CycleThe Water Cycle
The Water Cycle (also known as
the hydrologic cycle) is the journey
water takes as it circulates from the
land to the sky and back again.
The Sun's heat provides energy
to evaporate water from the Earth's
surface (oceans, lakes, etc.). Plants
also lose water to the air (this is called
transpiration). The water vapor
eventually condenses, forming tiny
droplets in clouds. When the clouds
meet cool air over land, precipitation
(rain, sleet, or snow) is triggered, and
water returns to the land (or sea).
Some of the precipitation soaks into
the ground. Some of the underground
water is trapped between rock or clay
layers; this is called groundwater. But
most of the water flows downhill as
runoff (above ground or underground),
eventually returning to the seas as
slightly salty water.
Prof. Alejandra Cortés & Lic Stella M. Saubidet O.
• In pairs, read the text and underline the key
words that describe the “water cycle”. For
example: water,circulates, land, sky, etc.
• Using these key words, try to describe the
process to the rest of the class. You can use
these verbs: is, evaporates, condenses, heats,
starts, finishes, circulates, turns into, cools
down, goes, flows.
Prof. Alejandra Cortés & Lic Stella M. Saubidet O.
Read the definitions below, then label the waterRead the definitions below, then label the water
cycle diagram.cycle diagram.
Accumulation - the process in which water pools in large bodies (like oceans,
seas and lakes).
Condensation - the process in which water vapor (a gas) in the air turns into
liquid water. Condensing water forms clouds in the sky. Water drops that
form on the outside of a glass of icy water are condensed water. (This term
appears twice in the diagram.
Evaporation - the process in which liquid water becomes water vapor (a gas).
Water vaporizes from the surfaces of oceans and lakes, from the surface of
the land, and from melts in snow fields.
Precipitation - the process in which water (in the form of rain, snow, sleet, or
hail) falls from clouds in the sky.
Subsurface Runoff - rain, snow melt, or other water that flows in underground
streams, drains, or sewers.
Surface Runoff - rain, snow melt, or other water that flows in surface streams,
rivers, or canals.
Transpiration - the process in which some water within plants evaporates into
the atmosphere. Water is first absorbed by the plant's roots, then later exits
by evaporating through pores in the plant.

  • 13. Prof. Alejandra Cortés & Lic Stella M. Saubidet O. The Water CycleThe Water Cycle The Water Cycle (also known as the hydrologic cycle) is the journey water takes as it circulates from the land to the sky and back again. The Sun's heat provides energy to evaporate water from the Earth's surface (oceans, lakes, etc.). Plants also lose water to the air (this is called transpiration). The water vapor eventually condenses, forming tiny droplets in clouds. When the clouds meet cool air over land, precipitation (rain, sleet, or snow) is triggered, and water returns to the land (or sea). Some of the precipitation soaks into the ground. Some of the underground water is trapped between rock or clay layers; this is called groundwater. But most of the water flows downhill as runoff (above ground or underground), eventually returning to the seas as slightly salty water.
  • 14. Prof. Alejandra Cortés & Lic Stella M. Saubidet O. • In pairs, read the text and underline the key words that describe the “water cycle”. For example: water, circulates, land, sky, etc. • Using these key words, try to describe the process to the rest of the class. You can use these verbs: is, evaporates, condenses, heats, starts, finishes, circulates, turns into, cools down, goes, flows.
  • 15. Prof. Alejandra Cortés & Lic Stella M. Saubidet O. Read the definitions below, then label the waterRead the definitions below, then label the water cycle diagram.cycle diagram. Accumulation - the process in which water pools in large bodies (like oceans, seas and lakes). Condensation - the process in which water vapor (a gas) in the air turns into liquid water. Condensing water forms clouds in the sky. Water drops that form on the outside of a glass of icy water are condensed water. (This term appears twice in the diagram. Evaporation - the process in which liquid water becomes water vapor (a gas). Water vaporizes from the surfaces of oceans and lakes, from the surface of the land, and from melts in snow fields. Precipitation - the process in which water (in the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail) falls from clouds in the sky. Subsurface Runoff - rain, snow melt, or other water that flows in underground streams, drains, or sewers. Surface Runoff - rain, snow melt, or other water that flows in surface streams, rivers, or canals. Transpiration - the process in which some water within plants evaporates into the atmosphere. Water is first absorbed by the plant's roots, then later exits by evaporating through pores in the plant.
