  • 13. To have a balanced life we need to have goals in each of the areas of our life (e.g. Father, husband, investor, entrepreneur, manager)

  • 24. Plans need to be short-term and practical. Detailed quarterly plans work best.
  • 25. Set a theme for the quarter and make sure everyone knows what they need to do to help achieve the quarterly goal.
  • 26. Break every goal down into short action steps. Action steps should ideally take 1 hour or less to complete
  • 27. Review your plan regularly“Plans are nothing; planning is everything” Dwight D. Eisenhower stevescholey@actioncoach.com 8

  • 31. Eat a frog for breakfast – clear off a task you are dreading first thing and boost your energy for the day.
  • 32. Friday Review - What worked? What could have gone better? What lessons carry forward into next week’s Monday Review?

  • 35. Acknowledge that you probably won’t feel more like it tomorrow!
  • 36. Accept that you don’t have to feel like it to do it!
  • 37. Will power (self regulation) is like a muscle, it is easily fatigued but it can be developed
  • 38. Create Implementation Intentions by deciding in advance what you will do in the situations where you know you will be tempted to put things off. E.g. I will switch off my phone, email & internet before sitting down to start the report
  • 39. If we are not completely sure of the very next step we need to take we are likely to do nothing. Break tasks into the smallest pieces possible.
