Initiatives
                         Policy
 Govt. constituted State Advisory Committee on Anti
    Human Trafficking
   Appointment of SP CID Crime as Nodal Officer
   Appointment of all SDPOs as Special Police (SPO)
    within their respective jurisdiction to deal with
    offences under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, (ITPA)
    1956.
   Govt. Notified Mizoram Victim Compensation
    Scheme, 2011
   Addl. SsP or Dy.SP are appointed as Nodal Officers of
    Anti Human Trafficking in their respective district.
Anti Human Trafficking Units
 AHTUs with appropriate staff and materials
 established at :-

             1) Aizawl District
             2) Lunglei District
             3) Kolasib District
Capacity Building
 Nodal Officer and selected officers attended National and
  Regional level Training of Trainers on Anti Human
  Trafficking
 State Level and District Level Training of Trainers on Anti
  Human Trafficking conducted throughout the state.
 Course on Investigation of Human Trafficking cases for
  Investigating officers introduced and conducted at Police
  Training School.
 Police Officers assigned at Anti Human Trafficking Units
  enrolled at IGNOU Certificate Course on Anti Human
  Trafficking.
Awareness Programmes

 Awareness program for Police officers, Prosecution
  staff, NGOs, Civil Society extensively conducted.
 Awareness for students conducted at Schools and
  Colleges.
 TV talk shows, Radio panel discussions and Live
  phone-in program telecast / broadcasts by TV and
 Radio stations.
Challenges
 Case study of 3 (three) cases viz. Rescue from Goa
  (Oct.2010), Mumbai (June. 2011) and Haryana
  (Sept. 2011 ).
 Unpreparedness to respond to cases outside the
  state
 Lack of coordination with counterparts at
  destination
 Lack of resources
 Transit problems in bringing the accused persons.
