Sometimes the meanings are very clear, but often one is left pondering over many of the details of each story.
A holy rabbi about 300 years ago said, “I came to teach you Scriptures, but you understood them not. Therefore I will tell you stories.
How many times have you heard someone say, “They’re just Bible stories”? If one does not believe in the stories, they can not share the wonder and beauty within the tale, nor can they convey the messages the story has to offer or teach.
The teller will lead the listener along a path that will strengthen faith and lead to spiritual growth.
Just look at the very first words of the Scriptures….Indeed this is the Greatest Story Ever Told
Hebrew is not a literal language, it speaks in concepts. Many of which can not be translated.
This was the way things were originally done throughout the ages
As a Chaplain at a Boy Scout Camp, I was always greeted by a full chapel, but only a handful of Jewish people were there. People of all faiths came to hear the stories I told. Many said they found strength in their personal faith by the meanings they heard in the stories
They are fit to be preached in public and one may stand in the congregation and tell one of these stories.
Most of religious stories will arouse the heart and draw it very close to G-d.
