Communication            though the company holds         the lines of communication are

  regular performance
  feedback
• The communication system
  should provides timely
  information and two-way
  communication channels

Limitations
• All the answers and
  responses from the
  employees were not
  unbiased
• The participants from the
  companies were very few.
  So the study got limited
• It was very difficult to study
  the whole communication
  structure of the
  organization in a short
  period of time

Participating Companies Participants: HR manager of the company (1yr of experience in FMCG industry and his first job as a MBA Graduate) and the sales executive of the company (total 6yrs of experience in FMCG industry of Participant: Branch Manager of an which 4yrs in the present outlet (a management graduate and organization) 7 yrs experienced in service industry) Organizational Communication

Findings MPS Food Products KFC India Communication though the company holds the lines of communication are Flow frequent town-hall meetings, the “open” all the way to the top employees are not comfortable executives sharing ideas to their managers Coordination / different departments share most interdepartmental Knowledge information with each other, but meetings are useful for Sharing sometimes they are biased and obtaining the information reflect their personal interest employees need to do their job Communication there are too many the Company takes good care so Barriers “gatekeepers” in the that the barriers of organisation that hinders the communications can be avoided flow of important information effectively Organizational Communication

Findings MPS Food Products KFC India Accuracy communication from other most of the information passed departments are not reliable down from the top- management are not detailed Timeliness often employees can not do important information about their job because they don’t the organization are conveyed have the information they need to the employees accurately to complete it and timely Media of all the medium of employees receive information Effectiveness communications face-to-face about company news and interaction is the most effective events via email, company form in the organization intranet, their managers, and town-hall meetings Organizational Communication
  • 7. Analysis Though both the companies maintain a good communication flow in their organization, there are some areas which still need attention Organizational Communication
  • 8. Recommendations • Senior leaders should be more visible • Front-line managers and supervisors should provide regular performance feedback • The communication system should provides timely information and two-way communication channels Organizational Communication
  • 9. Limitations • All the answers and responses from the employees were not unbiased • The participants from the companies were very few. So the study got limited • It was very difficult to study the whole communication structure of the organization in a short period of time Organizational Communication
