8. Gaia persuaded Cronus to punish father – cut off genitals and threw them away

9. Drops of blood fell on gaia and she conceived erinyes (furies)

10. Genitals fell in ocean forming white foam – from this was born aphrodite

11. Cronus freed siblings and became king. Took sister rhea as mate

12. Foretold that cronus would be deposed by son. So swallowed children as soon as born

13. Rhea tricked cronus by giving him stone rather than sixth child - zeus

14. Zeus hidden from father and raised by nymphs

15. When zeus became an adult he tricked cronus into drinking an emetic which made him vomit up children

16. War – younger gods, cyclopes and hecatonchires against titans and cronus

17. Gods won and titans imprisoned in tartarus

18. Gaia angered – sent typhon
