The presentation proposed an incident surveillance system for the Ministry of Home Affairs in India to collect and analyze disaster data. The system would collect preliminary data and store it on an incident server. Third party analysis tools would then analyze the time series data to identify trends and patterns of disasters through maps and graphs. The analysis would be used for situation reports, alerts, damage assessments, needs assessments, relief requirements, intervention gaps, long term planning, and risk identification reports.
