2. Colors are called hues.

3. Mix primary colors to get secondary colors. Red and Yellow make Orange. Red and Bluemake Violet. Blue and Yellow make Green.

4. Tints and shadesare created by adding white or black to a pure hue.

5. A color scheme is how you use and combine hues.

6. Monochromatic Colors Using tints and shades of only ONE hue is called a monochromatic color scheme.

7. Analogous Colors Analogous Colors are those that touch each other on the color wheel.

8. Complimentary Colors Complimentary colors are those that are directly across from each other on the color wheel.

9. Prismatic Colors The use of a wide variety of colors is called prismatic.

10. Objective vs. Non-Objective Art Objective art has identifiable objects. Non-Objective art does not.

11. Choose a color scheme and paint a non-objective painting.
