2. Omarion- O Omarion is an RnB artist who like many other artists like him, their music videos play out like a sequence from a film. The genre characteristic associated here are thug style by the way Omarion is dressed, cruising around and the video is full of sexual innuendos.
3. Lyrics ‘I know you heard men say itTime and time againThat they would rock your worldAnd change your lifeBut I can’t blame themCause you make a n*gga wanna get involvedWanna get the drawersWell I’m gone put my bid inAnd get at youNo disrespect but I want it bad as they doThe only difference isthey look out for themselvesBut I’m doin’ it just to hear you yell..yeah’ We see Omarion in his bedroom talking to himself about how he feels towards a girl and how bad he wants her. Goodwin’s theory of the notion is applicable for this shot as there is a screen within the screen.
4. Again, Goodwin’s theory is relevant here because there is a relationship between the lyrics and the visuals. As Omarion says ‘Drawers’, he shows us his. ‘Cause you make a n*gga wanna get involvedWanna get the drawers’
5. As I said earlier, this video is full of sexual innuendos which also have elements of Goodwin’s theory. ‘Girl come on over and Let’s get this thing crackin’ You’ll be surprised when You see what O’s unpackin’ When he says this he gestures to his crotch as he is dances which adds emphasis to what he has just said.
6. Motifs This video has many close ups throughout. This is because even though he wasn’t a new artist, this music video was his first video as a solo artist since leaving successful group B2K. The close ups I imagine are to emphasize that he is doing this alone and he is showing what he has to offer.
8. Why this video? I chose to do this video in particular because this type of music and the type of video is not majorly seen in music videos today. Modern day music videos are about how much money a guy has, how many cars and how many women they have, unlike this where a guy is expressing his feelings through dance; an example of this is ‘Say Goodbye’ by Chris Brown.
9. RnB Genre As this is an RnB music video, it will have references to women in particular such such as them being sex objects or less than that, as the male rappers or singers brag about their skills and amongst other things. RnB music videos tend to be faced paced and fun to watch which adds to the element of it being a mini movie; an example of this is ‘How To Love’ by Lil Wayne.
