 Widget: Kliens oldali szolgáltatás, amelyet létrehozója arra használ fel, hogy elérést
vagy megjelenést biztosítson a felhasználóknak egy adott oldalhoz vagy azon lévő
adathoz. Tartalmazhat HTTP post-ot valamilyen szerverhez, de nem kötelező.
 Gadget: Egy szerverkomponens böngésző-alapú kiterjesztése, amely szolgáltatásokat
biztosít egy adott oldalhoz.
 Note: A jól definiált gadgetek és widgetek felcserélhetők. Mivel ezek jelenleg különböző
közösségekben keletkeznek, különböző nézőpontok alapján, ez a gyakorlatban nincs

10. Lotus Mash-up
Mash-up: A XXI. század elejétől a Web 2. korszakában (Web 2.0) az
informatikában is megjelent a montázstechnika a meglévő web-es
szoftverekből, információkból új alkalmazások összeállítására. A
montázsok (angolul: mashup) ebben az értelemben szoftverösszetételek
(vagy rövidebben: összetételek, de lehetne „remix”-nek, „egyveleg”-nek
vagy „kevercs”-nek is nevezni), amelyek tkp. „kikevert” („mashed up”)
webalkalmazások: két vagy több információforrás vagy webszolgáltatás
összekapcsolásával, egységbe illesztésével előálló, funkcionálisan új
alkalmazás. A szoftvermontázsok nagyipari változatai az ún. összetett
alkalmazások (angolul: composite application), amelyeket ma minden
olyan nagyvállalat valamilyen formában használ, ahol a technológiailag
már elavult (legacy application), de üzleti értelemben még életképes
alkalmazások új lehetőségekkel való bővítését akarják biztosítani.

16.  Installation
 New server-managed settings have been added to the Domino Administrator server Configuration
Settings document. These options enable you to control how the Eclipse update manager feature
installs and updates features and composite applications on the Notes client
 This release contains several enhancements to the Eclipse NSF-based update site (8) template
(UPDATESITE.NTF) introduced in Notes 8
 Windows directory permissions have been modified to accommodate security improvements
made for Windows Vista and Windows XP SP2. This primarily affects the default and
recommended directories for Notes single user install, but it also impacts user-initiated feature
install and update in the Eclipse update manager. It also affects single user to multi-user upgrade
 Upgrade from a previously installed version of WebSphere Portal composite application support
for Lotus Notes, such as from Notes 8.0 to 8.0.1, is now supported
 Notes has been enhanced to support the Windows Vista UAC ON security setting
 Notes installation on the Apple Macintosh OS X platform is exposed as a beta technical preview in
this release
 New Widget Catalog (8) template (TOOLBOX.NTF) is supplied, on which to base the widget
catalog application (TOOLBOX.NSF). Domino policy settings for the My Widgets feature access
and catalog access are available on the new quot;Widgetsquot; tab of the desktop policy settings
document
 Domino for i5/OS
 Support for System i V6R1. Note - Before installing or running Domino DECS or LEI 8.0.1 on i5/
