2. Publication Plan
Title: RMusic
Positioning statement: Frequency of publication: Weekly Price: £3.00
Distribution: Supermarket such as Tesco and shops such as WHSmith will have my
magazine, but also newsagents, music shops will too. My magazine will also be
available online.
Rationale: The approach of the magazine is very much from the rock musicians and
celebrities and also from the audience from the perspective of looking at different
reviews. We will offer opinions and insights from the musicians and celebrities about
their personal life, what goes on the studios for example ; and articles and interviews
will focus very much on what the audience want to know from bands/singers as they
to want to know and ask, rather than questions asked by the magazine.
STYLE: The style for my magazine will be more informal and irreverent style, using
humour but not afraid to offer strong comment on events as this will allow the
audience to interact with the magazine more, being more engaging. The magazine is
for all rock and roll music fans and so will use simple vocabulary and syntax
following the top tabloid style of writing and presentation, with short paragraphs and
slang due to the target audience as formal language would be very irrelevant towards
a rock music magazine as the target audience is anchored to anyone.
Images will be the dominant feature of the layout.
