You
may
want
to
consider
seFng

or
social

only
email
outside
of
your
corporate
or

I
have
found
direcDng
all
social

email
updates
into
a
secondary
email

such
as

keeps
one
from

Keeping

3. Signing In, Twitter Home Page
This is also the page you will return to unless you click the “remember
me” checkbox under your username.
Once you have clicked “remember me” you will automatically go to your
Twitter home page each time you type in “Twitter.com”
3
4. Twitter Verification Screen
Now,
you
will
see
a
screen
where
Twi(er
is
checking
your
name,
validaDng
an
email
address,
checking
your
password
and
assessing
if
your

is
available.
You
can
change
the
usernname
here,
but
recommend
keeping
it
simple.
eg.
@willgladhart
or

(how
you
will
be

5. Recommended

Step
When
Twi(er
creates
your

it
gives
you
a
list
of
recommended
people
to
follow.
You
can
skip
this
step.

6. Interest Suggestions
Next
you
are
directed
to
select
your
interests.
Again,
another
step
you
can
skip
and
return
to
later.
6
7. Networking Via Email Suggestion
Highly recommend completing this step. You
can
synchronize
your
various
email
accounts.
You
do
not
have
to
complete
this
step
and
can
return
to
it
later,
but
this
step
will
verify
other

you
may
have

your
address
book,
7
8. Accepting Twitter Email Conformation
A pop up will appear at the top of the Twitter window once you
complete (or skip) the email sync step.
Now
you
have
to
go
to
your
email
address
(the
one
you
signed
up
with)
and
confirm
you
email
address.
Go
to
your
email,
click
the
link
to
confirm
the
address
and
you
are
directed
back
to
the
Twi(er
user
home
page.
You’ll
also
receive
an
email
confirming
the
email

(next

and
“Welcome

message.

You
will
receive
an

confirming
the

welcoming
you

Now
you
can
begin

You

10. Twitter Home User Page
On this page you will see a “Get Started” section to the right hand side
of the page.
First, you will want to visit item No. 3 ‘Set Up Your Profile’ to create
your job seeker’s profile.

where
you

12. Twitter User Profile Page, With Info
If
you
are
a
job
seeker,
put
a
descripDon
of
the
exact
Dtle
you
are
seeking
and
the
type
of
company
you
are
seeking
employment
with.
Otherwise,
put
something
relevant
to
you
or
the
company
you
work
for.
Again,
if
you’re
sDll
working,
yet
prospecDng,
take
care
because
people
will
find
of
follow
you.
You
also
have
the
opDon
of
posDng
your
Tweets
to
your
personal
FB
page.
I
do
not
recommend
linking
to
FB,
your
personal
friends
may
become
highly
annoyed
if
you
are
in
a
chat
session
and
there
are
20+
Tweets
on
the
FB
wall
in
30
minutes.
Overload!
Note:
If
you
are
going
to
use
Twi(er
exclusively
for
job
searching,
do
not
bother
doing
through
the
seFng
up
the
picture,
‘descripDon
of
you’
process.
If
you
are
going
to
Tweet,
parDcipate
in
chats,
then
set
up
the
enDre
profile.
You
have
opDons
of
choose
a
background,
determining
if
you
want
mobile
text
alerts
and
modifying
other
opDons
to
your
account.
I’ll
leave
those
for
you
to
explore.

13. Twitter Job Seeker Profile, Home Page
The complete, basic profile look. Prepare to Tweet!
13
14. WGC Professional Business Profile Example
Note: Many people ask about having a Twitter “custom background.”
Reality, unless you are a designer or programmer, do not bother or
spend money having one of these custom backgrounds created.
Typically, the user cannot view the custom page because of Twitter’s
continued changes to the format and layout.
Keep it simple with a basic Twitter user profile.

16. Seesmic Tweet Stream Platform
http://www.seesmic.com
Seesmic is a little more robust than TweetDeck in terms of streamed
content. If you are not a full scale Social Media Marketing or tools user,
this platform might be a little overwhelming than you want. Seesmic
allows the user to populate Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn feeds as well
as CheckIn streams like FourSquare or Gowalla.
Pretty much anything that is online and has a social media or RSS feed
is game.
