3. My front cover An example front cover
By using simple fonts I have used the convention
of an Indie magazine. Another convention is the
title of magazine being at the top, and using the
colour scheme of my magazine. However I have
developed them slightly by putting a coloured bar
behind the masthead.
My magazine follows the forms of a typical
magazine by putting the date and price small
underneath the masthead. I have also used a
barcode which follows the forms of a typical
magazine, however a slight development may be
placing it at the top of the page rather than the
bottom. I did this because I felt it worked with the
layout of my page.
The title of the feature article dominates the page
and uses a different font to the rest of the text on
the page, this uses the convention of a typical Indie
music magazine. As well as this, a simple colour
scheme including black has been used, also
following the conventions of an Indie magazine.
On a typical front cover the cover lines are found
on left and/or right of page, however on mine I
have put them in a bar across the
bottom, challenging the forms of magazine layout. I
have done this because I have seen a magazine do
this before, although it is not common, I feel that it
works well with my structured style.

5. My contents page An example contents page
On a typical music magazine the headline is
found at top of page and colour scheme of the
magazine has been followed, my magazine uses
these conventions in order to keep it looking
realistic.
A convention of a contents page is to have the
text in columns and to list the page numbers, I
have used this convention to help shape my
magazine to look like what you would expect to
find.
My magazine follows the convention of the use
of multiple images. I chose to do this because it
makes the page more visually interesting and
my target audience are very focused on the
visual aspects of things.
A convention of a contents page is to list the
articles that you will find inside the magazine, I
have used this convention because I feel it
continues to add realism to the magazine.
However I have not split the list into categories
because I wanted to develop this convention by
keeping it simple and clean to follow the style of
the rest of my magazine.

7. My DPS An example DPS
I have used the typical music magazine
convention of using photographs of people that
match the genre of my magazine. This is good
because it keeps the target audience known
throughout the magazine, making it more
engineered to appeal to that specific target
audience.
I have used a strap line underneath my splash
headline to give an introduction to my article,
this is a typical form of a magazine.
In my magazine I have used the form of writing
in columns to make the layout look like a typical
magazine. By keeping the text split up into
smaller sections, it makes the writing into more
manageable, easier to read sections so that the
reader keeps interest in the article.
On a typical double page spread a convention is
to have a large dominating headline at the top of
the page, and I have used this convention in my
magazine to keep it looking as realistic as
possible.
A roughly even text to image ratio is a form
which most double page spread use, I have
chosen to follow this convention because if
something works well, then why change it.
