Life is full of stress. Stress can come from work, family, school, and a number of other places. Chronic stress can result
in anxiety and serious illness if left unchecked. It is important to learn how to cope with stress so that you can be
successful in school and in life. Here are some tips to help you deal with the stress in your life.
Be realistic. Don’t worry about things that are out of your control. Use your energy to make positive changes when you
can.
Exercise. Physical activity has a calming effect on the body and mind in addition to keeping you in good shape.
Say no. You can’t do it all. Sometimes you have to say no. Too many obligations can cause unnecessary stress.
Ask for help. If you have a problem that is too much to handle on your own, don’t be afraid to ask for help whether is be a
financial, medical, or academic problem.
Learn to deal with negative people. Try to eliminate negative people from your life. Keep a positive attitude even among
negative people.
Do things you enjoy. Read, play a sport, hang out with friends, pursue a hobby.
Reward yourself. When you complete a difficult task give yourself a reward. This can be a great stress reliever.
Get organized. Use good time management techniques. Keep a calendar of important events and lists of things that
need to get done.
