Barry-Wehmiller Companies, Inc. Acquires Customer
Driven Technology, Inc.
ST. LOUIS— March 19, 2012 — Robert H. Chapman, Chairman and CEO of Barry-Wehmiller Companies, Inc. has announced
plans to expand the firm’s Engineering and IT consulting platform by acquiring Customer Driven Technology, Inc. (CDT), a re-
seller of advanced IT and enterprise solution products for the engineering and manufacturing domains.
CDT, headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, provides products and services to meet the rapidly changing landscape of
product development, product lifecycle management (PLM), and global project collaboration. Since 2008, CDT has
represented the full-line of PTC® software products for engineers, including Creo, MathCad, Arbortext and Windchill PLM.
Additionally, the company offers training at centers in Overland Park, St. Louis and Dallas.
“CDT is a natural fit into our platform of engineering and IT consulting companies as their highly-regarded product expertise
complements our proven engineering services and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementation capabilities,” said
Chapman. “By leveraging the combined resources and Barry-Wehmiller’s capacity to offer their products nationwide, we
create a compelling value proposition for our clients as well as the engineering technology and services market.”
“We are very excited to become part of the Barry-Wehmiller organization,” said TJ Dial, founder and President of CDT. “With
our new national footprint and resources, we can offer clients throughout the entire United States comprehensive solutions to
increase productivity, reduce costs, and realize improved 'time-to-market'. CDT’s and Barry-Wehmiller’s culture, values, and
dedication to providing uncompromising service to clients are in complete alignment. I Iook forward to the opportunity the
acquisition presents in bringing world-class engineering products and services to our existing clients and a growing range of
new clients.”
One of Barry-Wehmiller’s consulting firms, Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR), has been a pioneer in the
engineering services domain for more than a decade, offering a breadth of services ranging from complex machine design,
®
new product development, and PLM implementation services. CDT’s line of PTC products, especially its mechanical CAD and
Windchill PLM products, are ideally suited to many of BWIR’s clients. Conversely, the acquisition by Barry-Wehmiller gives
®
CDT access to BWIR’s comprehensive service offerings. Recently, BWIR was granted nationwide reseller status by PTC for
its Windchill PLM product, one of only two value-added resellers (VARs) to gain this distinction.
“The integration of CDT into the Barry-Wehmiller family allows both of us – BWIR and CDT– to offer a total solutions strategy
to our clients,” explained BWIR Managing Partner Vasant Bennett. “The synergy between BWIR and CDT will provide greater
resource capabilities and enhance both firms’ delivery and execution capabilities to an expanding client base.”
