Editor's Notes
TED talk: Demonstration of Photosynth Image at top will link to Photosynth website Discussion question: How does Photosynth embody the four essential elements of a network (According to Downes) 1. Context (Group 1) 2. Salience (Group 2) 3. Emergence (Group 3) 4. Memory (Group 4)
Distributive knowledge: The the idea that knowledge is not located in any given place and therefore cannot be transferred or transacted by consists of a network of connections formed by experience and interactions with the knowing community. What does this mean? Knowledge is subsymbolic. Mere possessions of words does not mean that there is knowledge and possession of knowledge does not necessarily result in the possession of words? Do you agree with Downe’s ideas?
Intelligence is: Diverse Dynamic Distinct
Re-thinking Attention: always on generation. Constant partial attention. Re-thinking Space: different spaces allow for different types of interaction RE-thinking Identity: Are you your facebook page?
