2.  Galileo’s telescope, a great improvement to the one that already
existed. With it, Galileo described the Moon's surface as
irregular, with hills and craters, sunspots, discovered four
satellites of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, and the stars of the
Milky Way. These findings contributed decisively to the defense
of Heliocentrism.
 He also developed several tools such as
the hydrostatic scales, a type of
geometrical compass that allowed
measuring angles and areas, the
thermometer and the precursor of the
pendulum clock.

The importance of Galileo to science is such that he has
been considered the “Father of Modern Science" , having
built some important tools for the development of science.
