2. INTRODUCTION
This power point is going to be about
Orcas and how they survive in the
wild and how they care for their babies
The orca’s scientific name is Councils orca.
You will lean about their habitat, range, map of range, family life, life
cycle, diet, and anatomy and averger body weiet, and interesting facts.
.
4. HABITANT AND RANGE
Habitat: Orcas are found in shallow
coastal water or deep waters
depending on what they eat, their
behavior or time of year. The best
places to see a killer whale are in deep
inshore waters, enclosed bays or
between islands were particular
groups have been seen. Orcas live in
oceans all over the world including the
great Atlantic, Pacific and the Indian
Oceans. They are mostly found in the
cold ice water of North America,
Northern Norway, Japan and Iceland
as well as waters near Antarctica.
Range: Orca lives in both shallow and
deep waters. Due to their enormous
range and numbers density,
distributional estimates are difficult to
comepare.
5. FAMILLY LIFE AND LIFE CYCLE
Orcas live in tight
family groups. Mother
orcas teach their babies
how to hunt and kill.
Normally killer whales
cruise slowly in small
family “groups of up to a
dozen.
A Killer Whale mother
gives birth to her single
calf under water. The calf
may emerge there head
first or tail first. And as
soon there born the
mother whales pushes it
gently toward the surface
of the water it can take its
first breath. At birth orca
calves are about 7 feet
[2m] long and weigh about
400 pounds [180kg] They
have only one baby in the
winter because they live to
be 95 years.

6. ANATONY AND AVERGER BODY
WEIET
Average body
size and
weight: 49 feet
to 56feet.
7. DIET
Diet: They eat fish, little animals
baleen plates, squid, mink,
sharks and other whale calves’
liver. They also eat penguins,
sea lion, and dolphins. Orcas
hunt in the sea in a pack
sometimes taking the largest
whale as prey. Sometimes they
attack boats or men. They also
attack seabirds like cormorants,
s and other marine mammals
like porpoise and whales.
8. INTERESTING FACTS
Interesting fact: The orca has a powerful agile body
that helps them catch their prey. The orca is 2 men
tall. Orcas eat whale calves’ liver. They will eat
other calves. They are bigger then a shark. They are
large dolphins..
