3. Population.
It is the most populated and extensive city in
California and the second one in The United
States.It's commonly known as L. A., It has a
population, calculated in 2009, of 3.792.621 and
an area of 1.214,9 km ².
4. Climate.
The city has a Mediterranean climate. Generally
the climate is moderate and dry in every season,
with 325 days of solar light a year. The breezes of
the Pacific Ocean tend to give the areas on the
coast in Los Angeles more fresh air in summer
and moderated temperatures in winter, than those
in the interior; in summer, there can be
differences of temperature of 10 °C between
some parts od Los Angeles and others.
5. Culture.
Los Angeles holds several entertainment
industries, such as the music, the cinema,
television and art. The industry of the cinema is
one of the most important in the city, specially in
Hollywood. Several entities dedicated to the
cinematography have their headquarters in Los
Angeles, including the Academy of the Arts and
the Cinematographic Sciences of Hollywood and
the American Film Institute.
6. Urban landscape.
Some known communities of the region of Los
Angeles include the commercial central district,
Century City, Them Happily, Silver Lake,
Hollywood, Hancock Park, Koreatown, and the
opulent neighborhoods and people of the western
zone of Los Angeles, such as Bel Air, Westwood
and Brentwood.
7. Other Places
The Walk of Fame in Hollywood is a sidewalk
along Hollywood Boulevard, where there are more
than 2.000 stars with the names of celebrities to
whom the Chamber of commerce of Hollywood
honors for their contribution to the industry of the
entertainment.
8. Chinese Grauman theatre, close to the Kodak
theatre. The above mentioned theatre obviously
calls the attention with its impressive front, which
resembles a Chinese pagoda.
10. Bel Air is an exclusive residential neighborhood
about 19 miles west of Los Angeles, California,
USA.
Many celebrities live in Bel Air, such as Mariah
Carey, singer Avril Lavigne, former President
Ronald Reagan or Michael Jackson.
