Thesis statement  Depression is a condition that effects many people and can lead to serious actions such as self-harm and suicide. However, there are successful ways to treat the condition if people seek out help.
Audience  People should know more about depression and what can happen if it’s untreated. To know what depression could lead to without a helping hand.
Depression  More than having a bad day, feeling sad for a brief period or loss in life. Illness that affects your feeling, thinking and act. Not result of personal weakness Can’t “get over” or “snap out of it.”   (Kramlinger)
Self- Harm People who hurt themselves on purpose Someone who cuts himself uses sharp objects.  Others self-harmers might burn themselves or bruising themselves. (Veague)

Facts On Depression  Depression is a condition that can last months to years if untreated. Usually Depression shows as a young adult. Most people after treatment feel better (www.halfofus.com)

Conclusion  I did this topic because Depression can happen to anyone at anytime and also it’s not just feeling sorry for yourself. I hope you become more aware of what being depressed really means.  Being there someone and letting them know you care, can make a whole difference to their life.

I had information cards that told about To Write Love On Her Arms and why they started up. There was a slideshow on the laptop and with music on. I had 2 shirts on the table showing that they have shirts you can buy and there was a catalog too. People could come to the table and I would write LOVE their arm. Then take a picture with them and put it in the slideshow right away.
