In one day, Worship-Centered Youth Ministry offers a fresh approach to post-modern youth ministry. Youth workers professional and volunteer come away challenged and refreshed. See www.bigpicturetraining.org.
6. Since my youth, O God, you have taught
me, and to this day I declare your marvelous
deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not
forsake me, O God, till I declare your power
to the next generation, your might to all
who are to come.
Psalm 71:17-18 [niv]
17. “From a spiritual point of view, the all-roads-lead-
to-heaven mindset is widely ingrained. Half of all
students state unapologetically that it doesn’t
matter what faith you embrace since they all teach
similar lessons. And millions of students espouse
the philosophy that it doesn’t really matter what
you believe, it’s what you do that counts.”
[George Barna, Generation Next, p79]
20. Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus
Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
21. was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell,
the third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand
of God the Father Almighty;
From thence he shall come to judge
the living and the dead.
22. I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen
24. Everyone around was in awe - all those
wonders and signs done through the
apostles! And all the believers lived in
wonderful harmony, holding everything in
common. They sold whatever they owned
and pooled their resources so that each
person’s need was met.
25. They followed a daily discipline of worship
in the Temple followed by meals at home,
every meal a celebration, exuberant and
joyful, as they praised God. People in
general liked what they say. Every day their
number grew as God added those who were
saved.
Acts 2:42-47 [niv]
29. To worship is to
ascribe worth to
anyone or anything.
I am giving worth-ship to God.
I give worth to Him in ever aspect of life.
30. Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s
mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy
and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of
worship.
Romans 12:1 [niv]
31. So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you:
Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping,
eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life -
and place it before God as an offering. Embracing
what God does for you is the best thing you can do
for him.
Romans 12:1 [the message]
32. Definition:
Living life in worship, day in and day out with
consistency, we experience the absolute truth of a
loving God; our spiritual hunger is filled not by a
religion but by relationships with God and each
other in Christ; and since weʼre all looking for a
place to call home - Godʼs left the light on for us -
we belong.
38. “I know no other place under heaven, where I can have some
[friends] always at hand, of the same judgment, and engaged
in the same studies; persons who are awakened into a full
conviction, that they have but one work to do upon earth;
who see at a distance what that one work is, even the
recovery of a single eye and a clean heart; who, in order to do
this, have, according to their power, absolutely devoted
themselves to God, and follow after God, denying
themselves, and taking up their cross daily.
39. To have even a small number of such friends constantly
watching over my soul, and administrating, as need is,
reproof or advice with all plainness and gentleness, is a
blessing I know nowhere to find in any part of the kingdom.”
