Since 2002, the Wounded Warrior Project
(WWP) has been dedicated to honoring
wounded United States service members and
supporting them with a wide range of targeted
programs and services. Built on the five core
values of loyalty, service, integrity, innovation,
and fun, the non-profit organization
concentrates on the needs of soldiers who
have suffered service-connected injuries or
illnesses on or after the tragic events of
September 11, 2001.
4. The Wounded Warrior Project
As of October 2012, the WWP has supported
over 23,500 alumni and 1,895 family
members. The programs offered by the WWP
are designed to meet the unique needs of
every individual service man or woman and
include physical therapy, medical
rehabilitation, psychiatric care, community
engagement, and economic empowerment
services.
