Product Development & Design Management
Industrial Designer/Design Manager with 17+ years experience in product design &
development in both consulting and corporate settings. My work spans many
product categories and industries, including: consumer, medical, high-tech,
aerospace manufacturing, outdoor sporting goods, and textiles.
In 1997 I joined Intel Corporation where I led Industrial Design and Serviceability of
the Enterprise Server product line. In 2003 I joined the Intel start-up User Centered
Design Group where I managed the Industrial Design team and later, the
interdisciplinary Experience Research & Design Team. UCD was a multi-disciplinary
team of user experience researchers, designers, and engineers whose charter was to
translate end-user value into tangible solutions that generate business impact for
Intel. Currently, I manage the Design of notebook computers for Intel’s worldwide
Channel mobile boards business.
As a formally educated Industrial Designer, I have significant experience educating
teams and organizations about the value of Design as a core business advantage. I
am experienced in promoting the Design Process and Design Thinking to both senior
level managers, corporate leaders, and global customers.
