Our hack is called Fanyrd. We really like going to conferences, but we were thinking - how could we improve the experience?\n
This is Lanyrd. It’s a great site that lets you find Events to attend, see who is speaking, and who is attending, and then zoom in to view the schedule for that day. But it kind of stops there.\nThere’s no way to measure the “approval rating” during the conference.\nIf you’re in a terrible workshop, but there’s a great one next door, it’s hard to tell.\n
So we remembered this. It’s the 2010 elections, where the wiggly worm first made its appearance.\n\nBut it was only controllable by the 100 or so people in the audience.\n\n\n\n\n
And then we thought - let’s apply it to conferences, and control it with smart phones!\n

This is only a prototype.\n\nLanyrd are currently working on an API, but it’s not released yet.\n\nSo for now, type in any username,\nChoose Over The Air as the conference, \nand “Competition Presentations” from the schedule\n\n\n
Now that you’re hopefully connected, you should be able to rate me as I’m speaking.\nSo if I say “computers are rubbish, this internet thing will never catch on, and Symbian is the future of mobile”\nYou can rate me.\nBut if I say “Over The Air is a great conference, Bletchley Park is an amazing place, and you’re all wonderful”\nYou can show your approval!\n
