Unfinished periods of time, experiences (up to now).
E.g:
- I’ve had too much work this week.
- I’ve never tried sushi.
Put enphasis on the result.
E.g: - She has written five letters.

3. Use
Form:
• For irregular verbs use 3rd column (past participle)
• For regular verbs add –ed
EXCEPTIONS –ed the same as simple past
4. Affirmative form
I have “have” I, you, we, they
you have and the plural form of nouns
he/she/it has “has” he, she, it and the
we have singular form of nouns
you have
they have
Subject + verb “have” + past participle + ...
E.g: - I’ve bought a new laptop.
5. Negative form
We put “not” between the form of have and the past participle. (subject +
verb “have” + NOT + past participle + ...)
E.g: I haven’t bought a new laptop.
6. Interrogative form
We swop the places of subject and the form of have. (verb “have” +
subject + past participle + ...?)
E.g:
- Have you bought a new laptop?
- Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t.
