MBA Presentation Competition - Walmart International Analyst

  1. January 2013 - as part of a part of a 18 month study abroad program I wanted to learn how to do business in the US.
  2. Orientation week, 1 week after arriving, we had a case competition. We were introduced to all these companies.
  3. First learning: how a company adapts its offer to enter different markets. Danone vs. Dannon – pronounciation
  4. Founded in 1919 by Isaac Carasso in Barcelona - Ten years later, the company moved to neighboring France VALUE: Health + International Bring health through food to as many people as possible
  5. Note: Market adapting = Activia is purple in Argentina.
  6. Going back to orientation. Dr Eli Jones said at sme point.
  7. Walmart = biggest retailer in the world & biggest customer for many vendors. International = I’ll get to interact with different coutries Analyst = satify the geek part of me.
  8. Joke about languages learnings. Jamie would speak English, Ivan would speak Mexican and me French. Chocking to me: small team = reassured…
  9. I am working with a much bigger team that I actually got to meet.
  10. I understood how important this tool is to drive the business in WMT. Which is really different than other retailers.
