What is Corporate University? “A centralized strategic umbrella for the education and development of employees which is the chief vehicle for disseminating an organization's culture and fostering the development of not only job skills, but also such core workplace skills as learning-to-learn, leadership, creative thinking, and problem solving,"
An overview of Corporate University  An organizational entity dedicated to turning business led learning into action. Developed by those corporations who have shifted their focus from employee training to employee education as a result of "the emergence of the knowledge economy“ Aim of achieving corporate excellence through improved staff performance and a company-wide culture in which innovation can thrive.
An overview of Corporate University There are many labels used by organizations for this function: University; Academy; Institute; College; Learning Centre; Learning Hub; Staff colleges (the public sector in particular has a history of this sort of initiative).
Characteristics of Corporate University Are wholly owned by a parent work organization Have as their primary focus the provision of learning opportunities for employees of the parent organization (even though it may also offer learning to suppliers and customers); Utilize symbols and language from the educational sector.
Goals of Corporate University Organizing training Promoting continuous learning Starting and supporting change in the organization Getting  the most out of the investment in education Bringing a common culture, loyalty, and belonging to a company Remaining competitive in today’s economy Retaining  employees.

Introduction  It is a USA based Motorola Inc.’s corporate learning division, a leader in corporate education In 1974, University was established at Motorola's headquarters in Chicago, USA, to provide refresher and occupational training programs for Motorola employees. Invented six – sigma methodology in 1986, which quickly became the global standard for quality management.
Introduction  In 1994, took initiatives to engage itself in research and proof of advanced management concepts, becoming a powerful facilitator to Motorola's development and change. In 2002,  stretched out to provide training and consulting services for Motorola's clients, suppliers and partners, helping the company shape a broader business ecosystem In 2005, established five institutes dealing with the five major links in management process,
Introduction   The University contributes to the company's sustained success by "adding values to customers. As the change enabler and culture communicator at Motorola, the university supports the company's continued development and breakthroughs in marketing, supply chain management and engineering by training people and optimizing quality.   It took on higher social responsibility by opening its training and consulting programs to the general public.

What is Corporate University? “A centralized strategic umbrella for the education and development of employees which is the chief vehicle for disseminating an organization's culture and fostering the development of not only job skills, but also such core workplace skills as learning-to-learn, leadership, creative thinking, and problem solving,"
  • 4. An overview of Corporate University  An organizational entity dedicated to turning business led learning into action. Developed by those corporations who have shifted their focus from employee training to employee education as a result of "the emergence of the knowledge economy“ Aim of achieving corporate excellence through improved staff performance and a company-wide culture in which innovation can thrive.
  • 5. An overview of Corporate University There are many labels used by organizations for this function: University; Academy; Institute; College; Learning Centre; Learning Hub; Staff colleges (the public sector in particular has a history of this sort of initiative).

Characteristics of Corporate University Are wholly owned by a parent work organization Have as their primary focus the provision of learning opportunities for employees of the parent organization (even though it may also offer learning to suppliers and customers); Utilize symbols and language from the educational sector.

Introduction It is a USA based Motorola Inc.’s corporate learning division, a leader in corporate education In 1974, University was established at Motorola's headquarters in Chicago, USA, to provide refresher and occupational training programs for Motorola employees. Invented six – sigma methodology in 1986, which quickly became the global standard for quality management.
