Social networking has become a norm in our society, with
websites like Face book, Twitter, MySpace and many more holding
a unique and vital role in our daily lives.

positive things, but is it also affecting us negatively.

oTIME WASTAGE:
Students while searching and studying online, they get attracted to
using social media sites and sometimes forget while they are using
it. this waste their time, and sometimes, students are not able to
deliver their work in the specified time frame.

The other negative effect on students is that they are spending too much time on social sites, and
much lesser time on socializing in person. In fact, there is a lack of body signals besides other
nonverbal cues, including tone and inflection in case of social networking sites. Thus they cannot
be considered as an adequate replacement for any face-to-face communication. Not only
this, students who are spending a great deal of time on these social networking sites are not able

tend to have more stomach aches, besides sleeping problems, as well as anxiety and
depression. Such students also display more of narcissistic tendencies besides many other
psychological disorders, including various antisocial behaviors as well as aggressive
tendencies.
Daily overuse of these social networking sites tends to have a negative effect on the health
of all students as it makes them more susceptible to various health problems in the future.
This is where peers, teachers and parents need to play a major role by making the students
