3.  Speed – as the resume database grows in size speed of
application and search slows down.
 Parsing – not as accurate as the vendor claimed, manual
labor is needed to clean up the parsed data.
 Hardware costs – need to buy, maintain, and upgrade a
dedicated server for the recruitment software, and need to
upgrade desktops as well.
 Software costs – one time purchase and AMC costs.

4.  IT labor costs – need an IT support person to manage /
maintain the server and the software on all desktops.
 Complex – several trainings are needed before a recruiter can
understand the software. Most of the features don’t get used.
 Support – customer support from existing vendors is
unsatisfactory.

5. Excel
 Excel is just a tool to store data, and these files need to be
manually created and maintained for every client / position.
 Most people don’t use reporting or pivot capabilities in Excel,
and hence the analysis which is done is limited.
 There is no quality or error check – anyone can enter
anything.

6. Email / Shared Folders
 Recruiters get 100s of resumes every day but not all resumes get
read. One recruiter will not know which resumes another
recruiter has, and may spend more time in trying to find the
same candidate from other sources.
 Windows shared folders are a popular way to store resumes.
However the same resume could appear in multiple folders and
not all resumes are saved in these folders.
 Anyone can delete resumes or take a copy of all resumes.
 Email or shared folder search is very limited. It can work for
keywords, but if I want to find candidates in Mumbai with 3-6
years experience in Java that’s not possible.
