Project 1: OTM Aug 2009 – Jan 2011
OTM(Overseas Transport Management) is a strategic project of Target charted to resolves overseas
shipments. Target being the second largestretail corporation in US, has business with worldwide vendors
who supply the inventory. EDI315 and EDI323 are crucial documents which helps Target to track the
shipment timing and expected time of arrivals. The project is to provide a mechanism to identify the
business gap in the existing EDI315 and EDI323 documents and providing solution to fix those. The
execution involves analysisof existingprocess,identifyingbusiness gap based with Ocean carrier on rules
and providing fixes. Reports were created from the Raw EDI file to facilitate the crosschecking.

The project has lack of documentation and client has no faith in the results, did the reverse
engineering and formulate the BAU, verify with the client and written requirement documents and

This project is to keep all the applications up and running in Integration and in sync with the Production,
so as to test the new/modified applications developed extensively in Integration before moving into
Production.The project used about 50% of the production data to set up the Integration region and mimic
production like implementation. This system acts as a benchmark for all Target mainframe applic ations
before they are deployed in production

Single-Day Receipt (SDR) is a transportation and distribution initiativeto provide a specific date and time
for a Vendor shipment to arrive at a Target Regional Distribution Center (RDC). Currently, Distribution
Strategy confirms POs as STR (Ship To Receive) and sends an e-mail, which identifies STR POs to each DC.
This service is currently provided for four vendors. These vendors manually communicate STR dates to
their carriers. This project is to automate the current STR manual process and reduce the DC scheduler
time in manual tracking of STR PO details.

Health Plans. Design and Development module is to automate design and development of new products
and the delivery of the product data to the necessary Emphesys systems.
