This document summarizes a study analyzing the environmental, economic, and social impacts of cruise ships in Venice, Italy. The study aims to measure particulate matter, hydrodynamic effects in canals, vibrations from passing ships, and how much money passengers spend. It will also analyze population increases when passengers disembark. The goal is to develop a profile of cruise ships' positive and negative impacts to help manage traffic. A survey of passengers was conducted to determine where they went and spent money in Venice. The results will be shared with VTP to help improve cruise management.
13. SCOPO dello STUDIO The ultimate goal of this project is to develop a publicly accessible profile of the positive and negative economic, social, and environmental impacts of cruise ships and their passengers on the city.
