Volunteer Foundation Nepal (VFN) is a non-profit organization registered in Nepal that aims to provide shelter, care, education and love to vulnerable children including orphans, victims of natural disasters, and street children. VFN operates a home called "Papa's Home" which currently houses 16 children. VFN relies on volunteers and seeks continual sponsorship to fund educational and living expenses for impoverished children, with a vision of building an eco-friendly home and school to further their mission.
1. WHO ARE WE?
Volunteer Foundation Nepal (VFN) was founded in 2010 by Lalit Shahi. VFN is a service orientated,
non/profit, non/governmntal and non/political organization. VFN is registered in the District
Adinistration Office (Reg. No. 3295) and with the District development Committee. VFN is also
affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (Aff. No. 32125) and with the Child Home Federation Nepal.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Volunteer Foundation Nepal (VFN) provides both short-term emergency shelter and long-term
accommodation in the home environment of 'Papa's Home' for child victims of natural disaster and
conflict, as well as orphaned, abandoned, abused and street children.
The establishing members of the organization take an active part in the running of the organization,
they carry out different social activities and all have a common desired goal.
WHAT IS OUR PURPOSE?
Volunteer Foundation Nepal (VFN) main purpose is the provision of a normal, caring, loving home
environment for vulnerable and needy children, especially those who have lost one or both parents.
WHAT ARE OUR OBJECTIVES?
Volunteer Foundation Nepal (VFN) objectives are to ensure that all our children have access to
education and care in keeping with the UN Declaration on Children's Rights: 'The child shall enjoy
special protection, and shall be given opportunities and facilities ... to enable him to develop
physically, mentally, morally, spiritually and socially in a healthy and normal manner and in
conditions of freedom and dignity.'
VFN's objectives are to provide continuing accommodation, food, education, shelter, health-care and
love to the orphans, child victims of natural disaster and conflict, as well as abandoned, abused and
street children.
To find continual sponsorship and funding for children from poor economic conditions and poor
family backgrounds.
WHAT IS OUR VISION?
Volunteer Foundation Nepal (VFN) aims are to develop a purpose built eco-friendly home and school,
together with vegetable producing gardens utilising organic and bio-dynamic methods of cultivation.
VOLUNTEER POGRAM
Volunteer Foundation Nepal (VFN) 'Papa's Home' project relies greatly on the selfless contribution of
volunteers in their close working together with our children and staff members.
2. VFN also operates as an umbrella organisation for 'Volunteeer Programs' in Nepal. VFN will design a
program to suit individual needs.

Mission:
With the assistance of volunteers we aim to provide a homely, supportive and safe environment for
impoverished children. To give children the opportunity to learn and grow so that they can become a part of
the community and our society as a whole. In return the volunteers will gain experience and fulfillment.
Vision:
To complete our mission we aim to give impoverished and needy children the opportunity to education,
protection, and development in a supportive environment. To provide continual guidance at each stage of
their life so they can develop an independent future for themselves and become part of society. This will
help Nepal to develop as a nation.
Objective:
VFN has been founded to achieve the following objectives:
To provide continuing accommodation, food, education, shelter, health care and love to the orphans,
victims of natural disaster, children of conflict and children who are forced to live in prison with
their parentsTo find continual sponsorship and funding for the children with poor economic
condition and poor family background, including street children.
The Papa's Home is based in the Lalitpur District of Kathmandu, Lalitpur Submetropolitan-2,
Kupondol. We currently provide shelter to 16 needy children. We are planning to provide happy
family home to more Street Children..
Providing different volunteers in different sectors like Education, Cultural, Environmental and
Awareness and Health/Hygiene.
