  1. Objective: Engage you with the concept of CSR and in how we can use our Talents to make our business and our society better.
  2. What is CSR for you? For it means making your business on the best way Possible!!
  3. We’ll outline 3 aspects to build up the concept of CSR.
  4. It’s not about Charity! Many CSR strategies take in consideration the feel good factor and the heavy conscience factor. But I ask you, are we being really relevant with that? Are creating any relevance with charity? This is the point we start to become a bit Hypocrites. We buy delegate bags from child labor in India and in the end of the year we collect money to send to children in Chile. CSR is not about being nice, it’s about creating Sustainability.
  5. It’s a bit Cliché by now, but a Sustainable Business need to take in consideration all this 3 elements, the famous 3P. This is the bottom line of the a Business! Profit: A health business need to have a health economy, if you have shareholders, you need to pay their stocks at the end of the day, id you are a non-for-profit, you need to be able to get your expenses down. We need to be able to predict economic growth. Planet: Greening everything is the trend now. We live on the Global warming and Climate Change era and as a part of the planet, we also need to take the environmental issues aspect in consideration. If the world commits to reduce it’s energy usage and CO2 consumption, so should do any Sustainable Business to make their share for our Planet. People: This is the forgotten part of the pillar. Every company has many Stakeholders involved (employees, costumers, suppliers, shareholders, community…). Our services are just as good as it is our relations with those stakeholders. Ethics, Transparency and Human Rights are key elements and engage and share our challenges the last and definite piece to make an Business Sustainable. Understanding our place in the world (our in our community to not be so general) is the only way to be really relevant. This is the BOTTOM LINE, our Business Model… but how do you create sustainability then? Using your Talents!!!!
  6. *Chart of CSR on the white board - Questions: This is the Business Model  Are we sustainable? What is the mission, the purpose  back to Business Model: Are we Sustainable? Are we relevant? How can we be relevant…using our talents! What we do best? What are our Talents? Not just as individuals, but as a company… If the answer for the question is not stated in the company mission statement we need to rethink everything!! * Microsoft Example  Show on the chart * Bring it up to MCI, build it together with the team – short exercise: What we do best? What are our Talents? Not just as individuals, but as a company… What we do best here is (and should be) Organize Meetings, events, consult and serve associations… we say that we build communities through our services! Here is the question I put to start our work: How can we be relevant using our talents?
  7. * Show on the Chart: The boy’s business of playing soccer was not exactly what he wished for, so he decided to pump up things. He went to talk to his suppliers, made a nice project with them using his skills and engaging them. They then brought up a new partner that will make his Businees of playing soccer much better!
  8. Many things have been done already past few years, you can see the form filled to the IBM award on the server. Open the file and show highlights.
  9. In the other hand, many of the Actions taken are actually reactions from the market pressure. Our work now on, is to catch up and sit on the drivers position again! Are you up for the challenge?
  10. This group is also about sharing best practices and give each one of us a platform to be better at our jobs! Don’t have the pretention to teach anybody about Project Management, but first thing I would like to use for our team is a very simple PM tool taken out from the GTD system. The five phases of the GTD Natural Project Planning: Defining purpose and principles – Here’s where we ask “Why?” Answering this question defines the successful outcome, sets the boundaries, as well as focusing and motivating towards completion. You need to know where you’re going before you can plot the course. Outcome visioning – Allen says, if you can’t visualize the end result you will have trouble figuring out how to do it. He suggests going beyond mere completion and visualizing what “wildly successful” would look like. Brainstorming – Brainstorming generates the ideas for moving the project to completion. Allen recommends getting the ideas out of the head and onto paper. Writing serves to clear the mind enabling other ideas to come through. Writing also helps keep the focus on the project at hand. Organizing – Now that those ideas are out of your head and onto paper, start moving them around. Figure out which are the important pieces and sort by components, sequences and priorities. Identifying next actions – Of course, no GTD planning would be complete until Next Actions have been identified. What is the immediate action required to move the project forward on every front. Will have just two lists to track… One projects list, that we need to review on the monthly meeting, and a Next Actions List that we all will work based on.
  11. To support our client's needs and successfully drive our projects, we can identify 4 internal communities:     Teams that create strategic content to drive change ("change" is expected after any meeting!)     Teams that bring insight into our client's industry     Teams that manage the projects and make it happen     And teams that create ideas and concepts to energise our client's vision Note: please replace by a collage of people in your office
  12. NOW! Let’s work now… What are the Projects we need to take on in order to catch up? What are the next Actions before the End of the Year! Calculate our CO2 Total Emissions Scan our old spreadsheet with next actions Recycle Paper bins Weigh our current Recycle Paper Bags
