Puthiya Nambikkai
a step towards new future
Puthiya Nambikkai, meaning ‘New Hope’ in Tamil,
is a collaborative effort with the Pondicherry Police
Department and Satya Special School, Puducherry
Aims at Prisoners Reformation and Rehabilitation by
including the prison staff and the spouses and also
the children of the prisoners
The project involves
Extensive study of the existing prison conditions at
Puducherry Central Prison, the background of its prisoners
and their families, and also involving the police personnel
in the process of reformation and rehabilitation
It works towards
Helping in the reformation of prisoners and return them as
productive members of society in respect to Education,
work skills, treating others with respect, and self-discipline.
