Victor Gonzalez presented at a conference on blended language learning. He discussed how blended learning combines traditional in-person learning with online and digital tools. Blended learning allows students to take a more active role in constructing their own knowledge by making creative projects using tools like presentations, videos, comics, and blogs. It encourages students to be independent, self-reliant, and able to adapt to new forms of communication. Teachers take on more of a guiding role to help students in their work. Overall, blended learning uses technology to make classrooms more creative and collaborative.

- Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your class. So if you choose a topic with your students in class you can generate as many words as your students like and put them together.\n

A podcast is an audio digital file you can post in a blog and then download it as an MP3 file any time you want to listen to it. Many radio stations use podcasts, individuals, companies and of course also teachers. You can have an audio book, a short story, sporting event commentariers, class lectures, cooking recipes and an original radio program where the students can talk about their favourite music, films, actors, their own experiences or create their own original stories. \n\n
