3. SRC Toastmasters organised a Toastmasters'
Awareness Day on 26 Oct 2013.
Our Club President Madam Rosaline Phan and her Exco
members, including several other SRC Toastmasters
members, dressed in their SRC Toastmasters tees,
helped to man two separate booths at the lobby and
poolside cafe entrance of Singapore Recreation Club.
The SRC Toastmasters banners were hung at prominent
locations to attract walk in members.
4. Every member on duty
resolved to introduce the
goodness of Toastmasters;
seizing the chance to
share how they overcome
the fear of public speaking
so that they can take on
speaking opportunities with
confidence and panache.
Others went further to
share how they handled
impromptu speaking
opportunities, using
techniques and skills
imparted to them in
Toastmasters so that they
can sound cogent and
congruent when asked to
"say a few words."
5. Interested members were
given the information :
1. Benefits and value of
joining Toastmasters
2.Eligibility, cost, TM
educational program
3. TI sample brochures
4. Flyer on a workshop on
"The Express-Way to
Success" conducted by a
fellow prominent and
award-winning
Toastmaster Mr Coen Tan
6. The workshop was
organised by SRC
Toastmasters as a subtle
follow up to invite potentials
members to explore and
learn the techniques in
public speaking.
It proved a friendlier and
more successful
recruitment process.
7. SRC Toastmasters
Awareness Day was
certainly a very enriching
and successful day as
evident from the beaming
smiles and
contentment of the
toastmasters on duty. A
few new members were
also recruited in the
process.
